Warrior "Starskie"

Damn, I knew I was forgetting to ask something.

Tapered: Dolomite graphics tapered shaft and Dolomite tapered blades

Standard: AK27 standard shaft (Gold and Black, so the AK stands for Alexei Kovalev of course) and AK27 standard blades

Both of these shafts are the same construction as the old 1100s.

Do you mean they will release retail Kovalev like shaft? If so great to know and when will they release that.

And the AK blade, will it be a retail or a pro stock blade?

As Chippa said, the "AK27" is just the brand for their retail standard shafts and blades. To my understanding the AK27 is just an 1100 shaft painted similar to Kovalev's pro shaft. The blades will be in their retail patterns.

ok great, do you know if the starskie is made with soft grip, my bro just ordered one and would like to know, he hopes it does have it.

Yes. There is both a soft grip and non-grip version.

Yep, just an 1100 with better marketing and a better paint job.

I am pretty sure the Starskie is a Dolomite (aka 1100) with a different paintjob for the holiday season. Wherever Kovy_Ribs_Fedo found the info for his above post, is wrong.

Any ideas on lies? Specifically, the Fedorov and Smyth(Kovalchuk Pro Pattern) lies?

I'm pretty sure Fedorov was 4.5, but The Game mentioned they seemed to have altered the pattern from its Inno days, so I was hoping they upped to a 5.

Bring it in...let me see it. I'll figure out what it really is.

Well, when I first spotted them, I picked up a Starskie and then a Bauer XXX (True 1) and they felt identical to me. Not very scientific, just my opinion.

I now know what they are. The thread was started by me. I want to know why people would pay $160 for a stick they can get for $89. Is there a difference in design, quality, etc? Or is it because of availability of flex, curve, graphic....

Hahaha...

I would speculate it's due to the Winnwell name not carrying much clout, them having to sell off stock, and the cosmetic blemishes.

Many other things sell cheaply as well, but due to blems and what not, you can often find them much cheaper.

Look at clothes for instance. A nice designer sweater may run $160, but go to an outlet store, where they need to sell off stock and due to possible stitching errors or whatever, you can get it for much much cheaper.

Same idea.

I wouldn't think overall quality would be affected in any way.

Yeah I know what you mean. I spend tons of money on high-end sticks, yet there's always some guy in my league that uses a 100 lb woodie and gets 30 pts consistently. It pisses me off to think I gotta spend the $ to get the extra bit of help, when some guy with a Sher-wood is doing just as well.

It all comes down to skill.

But...I still like my high priced equipment
