You might want to rethink your whole idea about "size matters." Otherwise, at 5'6" I should have been playing like I was 6'5" for the last 20 years, knowing that a "bigger guy" can't fight me. 'Cause if he does, he's a pussy.

There's a difference - Domi is a "known" fighter, while Avery is not. Avery is an agitator. No one ever said Avery is an "enforcer" except for the press. Avery's job is to get under the skin of the opponent. Just like Pat Verbeek, Ken Linesman, Esa Tikkanen, etc. None of those guys were "fighters" so to speak.

But hey, if people want to take runs at Avery because he's pissing off other guys then more power to them. It's only going to give the Kings more power plays. Now if the Kings could get their PP going they'd be in business!

I have come to the conclusion that when a smaller guy picks on or beats up a bigger guy, then he is thought of as a tough guy.

But when a bigger guy picks on and beats up a smaller guy, he's a pu$$y for going after a smaller guy.

Which strikes me as odd. Not to mention, I know a ton of little guys with huge Napoleanic Complexes and the egos to match, who feel that because they are small, they have to go around proving their manhood to everyone. When all they really are, are macho little pip-squeaks.

Case in point...Bob Probert - Tie Domi bouts from years back (NYR-Detroit days). Domi and Probert basically split their 2 bouts. I remember reading in the newspaper (and they had this whole boxing match kinda scorecard thing after the fight with little boxing glove pictures next to the score) after Domi won, that he was a hero, and a tough as nails competitor...kinda like a David and Goliath storyline. But when they fought in Detroit and Probert won that fight, suddenly Domi was a victim, somone who some big bully had decided to pick on one day. Forgetting to mention Domi basically chased Probert around the ice until the fight finally started.

Now that's just media sensationalism, and I'm sure Domi wouldn't say that when Probert beat him up, it was because Probert was bigger than him. But I truly feel that is the way people look at big guy-little guy fights. Big guy wins, so what. Little guy wins, OH MY GOD! HE'S A HERO!

I say you may as well leave it open and let it sink back a page or so. I can't imagine it will be more than a week until Avery makes another comment, or cheapshots someone, or gets a much needed beating. Better to already have a thread that we can continue, than start up another :D
