beaucoup_fish 0 Report post Posted December 5, 2005 Ok, as a spinoff of a few recent threads, I just have to know once and for all, the definitive answer on how the 8090 fits compared to all other Bauers. I'm currently wearing the 8000 and they fit the same way all my other Supremes have fit, but I'm hearing that 8090s are wider and fit more like a CCM or Easton boot...So, the question is, in case I want to switch up to 8090s: do they fit like Supreme boots of past/present, or like CCM boots?EDIT: either the search function on this board sucks, or I don't know how to use it properly... asdfa 0 Report post Posted December 5, 2005 are you ordering them on the internet? check hte review, there are a couple really good ones.basically, the 8090's are wider, deeper and a bit higher cut (i think). they also have a pretty big arch.

killthepoodle 0 Report post Posted December 5, 2005 They feel just like my old supreme 2000's from yesteryear.....except stiffer. Those were 8.5e, I am wearing 8d in the 8090's though..........
DarkStar50 679 Report post Posted December 5, 2005 I have worn a Bauer 6 D for over 20 years. They fit right every time. When I had on an 8090 6 D the boot was extremely comfortable. When I had this boot on, it was long before I found out that an 8090 D was an E. The fit was very good but visually the laces were not spread far enough apart across the tongue. The eyelets were a wee bit too close together and I feared the boot stretching and the laces closing together more. I prefer a good 2.5"-3" spread across the laces. I like to feel the boot around my foot completely. So, be sure that your foot is wide enough to get a D and know that its really an E. Through the 90s I wore Bauer top end skates in 3000(Pro stock # 2 stiffness when retail = #1)those skates had incredible life, Vapor 8(Pro Stock # 2 stiffness before the oven was on the market) those skates were incredibly stiff, 7000 (retail boot) that eventually died from skating backwards as a D-man, and Vapor XX(retail boot) that are holding up extremely well. I used some old Bauer 1000 boots to ref in then and they had the original leather interior. They fit like a glove. Every pair has been a 6 D and they all fit perfectly.IMO, the 8090 fits like a Supreme always has. You have to be careful with that width issue and take the time to be sure the fit and width match up.

Ok, I'm assuming from your experience then, that the 8090 fits in every way the same as another Supreme, with the exception of being a wider boot...

BGM 0 Report post Posted December 5, 2005 I've worn Bauer for 25 years. Most recently 7000s to Vapor XXs. When my XXs wore out I thought that I would try 8090s. They definitely are wider and fit pretty deep compared to old Supremes. I couldn't adjust to them after a few weeks and got some XXXs. Just my $.02. You might want to wait until the new Bauer One90 skate line comes out.

Or... get the 8090 because it's proven to be durable, is lighter than a Vapor XX, and can be had for $229 including shipping these days (clearing out to make room for the new model/line). I believe it will be perfect after a good heat molding :)

But for sure my classic silvers were fitted correctly as I bought them at my LHS and they never gave me any problems. the 80-90's feel like a very good fit as is, but I think heat molding it will make it just the way I like it. I have a break between finals for the next few days, gonna go down to the hockey shop in surrey and have them molded and give them a skate on friday/sat. Ogie Oglethorpe 14 Report post Posted December 8, 2005 The "Classic" series, such as the gold, was also a traditional/relaxed CCM like fit I believe. Not like the 7000 or 8000, which were narrow through the arch/toe box area.
wickedwrister 0 Report post Posted December 8, 2005 I am a size 10 street shoe. All of my Supremes have been a 7.5EE. I tried on a pair of 8090's and found the 7.5D to be a good fit.
