Good wood sticks

Recommended Posts

Hey, I've been using an Easto Z-Carbon 95 wood stick for the last 3 months, and the blade is starting to crack and give out so i am going to my LHS tomorrow to pick up another. Before I go I was wondering if there are any other good wooden sticks to check out before i make my decision.

thanks

I really like the Zero-G, although mine is a little too stiff. Its hard to find them, so I had to nab mine when I did despite the wrong flex. They are simply beautiful sticks.

I really liked bauer 3030 for puckhandling though.

The blade used to chip very easily, but I haven't used them since they started adding strips of reinforcement to the blade. This was back when the blade was completely smooth.

Soooo, I don't know if they feel the same.

I used to play w/ some kids that absolutely swore by Montreal sticks and blades, though pricey IMO.

Nowaday's if I go wood, I go mainstream and just grab a SW 5030. Sorry Chadd, no Christian 1000's where I am though I'd love to try one and pretend I was Craig Janney :P

Are Christian 1000s their equivalent to 5030s? On the topic of the 5030s, has anyone noticed a tendency for the shaft to have torquing problems? Howsabout the Bauer 1000s?

Back to the topic at hand, Sher-wood PMP7000s are indeed great sticks.

I agree the Sher-wood PMP 7000s are good sticks, it lasted me a good eight ice times. The Bauer 1000 is another story. Those last one practice for me.

I used a Bauer 1000 when I played inline for a year. Tons of whip on that bad boy.

The Christian 1000 is essentially a 5030 and the 2000 is essentially a 7000.

when i used to be knee-high to a grasshopper, i'd use the bauer 1000's.. shave em down.. and i'd be left with an incredibly light, smooth, woodstick... ive been using the sherwood 7000's and 9950's lately.. and ive gone through 4 7000's and 1 9950 in about 8 ice times...if you can still find any branches wood sticks.. you might as well pick up one of them... awesome stick.

People seem to really like the Montreal's....but are there many pros using them? Do they not endorse?

Lotta the European pros used to use the bright red ones...I used to want one of those so bad. I'm sure they're fine sticks, but the company probably doesn't have any endorsement deals. I think the Numminen family owns or has some stake in the company though...

Dont they distribute Tackla in NA though too?

Montreal has Tackla in the US, Vaughn has it in Canada.
