I need a strong stick

Recommended Posts

I have this curse and well I have gone through 2 OPS a shaft and 4 blades now all in about 6 weeks and its really getting me mad. My shot isnt strong its just people fall on it or a block a shot with it but im sick of them breaking. Im looking for a real strong OPS or tapered shaft. Anyone have ideas?

what sticks have you been using?

what level of hockey do you play?

easton ultralites are know for their durability, although it is standard

as far as tapered.. may be the salming, although i havent used it long to comment on that..

my cut tps response shaft as well as my nike quest 1 has been very durable as well..

None of the Salmings G1's I have sold have broken. They are tanks!

Most durable shaft I can remember are the old Bauer Vapor 10's or Vapor 8's, those things were tanks and stiff as hell.

Z bubble shaft with Z carbon Blade.........I play D and beat the piss out of my sticks. Had the same problem with one piece sticks.

Those break like crazy around here, people stopped using them becuase they broke so easy. Its either the blade breaks at the focus point or the bottom splits,or the shaft breks at the taper or directly in half.

Not as fast as my synergys--2 in one month basically 4 games and been using 1 Z bubble for 8 games......guess I have been lucky!

If you are looking for a Standard shaft blade combo, I'd say an Ultra lite with an Inno blade. Ultra lites are very durable shafts, and it will still give you good performance. Inno blades have excellent feel and they are tanks.

If you are going OPS. The CCM Vector 110 and 120 seem to hold up well.

The Bauer Endure might be worth checking out too.

my easton ultralite has lasted me a couple of years through many different leagues. If you add a z-carbon blade to it, it's like heaven.

You know what is funny about the ultra light.......It is heavier than the Z bUbble. Just found that out..looking at my easton catalog.

I know in the past some people on this board and the old board (which will remain nameless) used to swear that some of the Busch OPS's were extremely durable. The most durable sticks for me have been the Nike Quest Apollos and TPS Response +'s

I had an Endure but I didn't keep it around long enough to find out about the durability.

XN10's

They arent very durable sticks, all I use is mostly TPS and the performance is good but they need to do something to fix their blades.Their shafts are excellent quality though,I would recommend a TPS Rubber Shaft(if you can find one) and an Inno or Easton Ultra Graphite Blade.

The blades on my 2 have been holding up unbelieveably well compared to the Eastons i have had. I was surprised.

I would agree with the CCM Vector as being strong sticks, I use the Stealth grip and it has lasted quite a while. I am a fast skater so mostly slashes and hacks, almost all of the red is gone off the bottom.

My R2 shaft has been going strong since last December.
