Jofa 8070 Shin Guards

How the hell do you use 17" shins? I'm 5'11/6' and I use 14".

Anyway, thanks to the Euro members that want to help me out. Hopefully I can get my hands on a pair of these.

I may want to get 2 pairs so I don;t nned to do the same thing 4 years down the road...

I have them almost touching the top of my foot. I find I can skate better with bigger shinguards. My shins are long as hell,18" from the center of my knee to the top of foot.

Im probably about 5'9" not 5'8".

coming from canada to the US, the stereotype for college hockey for me was dmen with what you have. in quebec everyone tucks their shinpads under tongue, so ya over was different, however i wear over, im 6'1 and have 16"

Get a pair of Reebok 7k's , basically the same shin pad and will probably be cheaper in the U.S.

I'm 5'9" and used to use 15" Jofa's. I am now on 15" RBK 8K's but have the distinct feeling that I should've bought the 6K's instead.

Why do you think you should have gotten 6k's instead? Just wondering because I just un -wrapped a pair of 6k's.

I am nowhere near a LHS to compare and fit anything. From what I've read on the board, the 6K introduces new design concepts that stray from the traditional Jofa/RBK shinpad. I find my 8K very protective but heavy compared to my old Jofa 6090 (or was that a 9060?) that gave out on me. I play pick-up and drop-in with some rec league hockey at most, and I was looking for a more lightweight and ventilated shinpad.

How do you find your 6K's?

They're too big, I couldn't tell ya.

I thought that my old Mission M-1's were 15" pads, but were 14', so my 16" Jofa/Rbk's are too restrictive...

They're really comfortable to have on though, and the removable straps are a huge plus.

(Shoulda listened to the LHS owner...)
