Those Russkies...sure got the edge in skill. Dominate my ass. :P

I love the WJC. I love to see guys that are regarded as lesser lights shine in this tourney. Clarke MacArthur, where are you now?

My favourite moment ever - Paul Romanuk: "THE DRIVE FOR FIVE...IS ALIVE!!"

That was an awesome game.

It's hard to believe Pogge didn't get Goaltender of the tourney seeing as he set those records.....oh well, he played great regardless

The game will be remembered for that missed goal. No one will ever know what the outcome would of been if it had counted.

I'm assuming Rask got the nod - as well as Pogge played, I think he had the sickest D in front of him - Rask carried his team all the way, so I gotta give him kudos. Looking up for Leafs fans!

No it won't.

Great game and an even greater win for Canada. For a team that everyone thought would stuggle to even medal it shows you how far playing as a team can take you. All in all it was a terrfic tournament and I look forward to seeing if we can repeat again next year.

Anybody remember watching TSN previewing the tournament before it starte... "The question for Canada will be there goaltending", I guess no questions asked we had by far the best goaler in the tournament..

As for Rask getting the Best Goaler award, no questions about it he carried Finland. He faced something like 50 shots again the Czechs then again faced another 50 against the Canadians... Without Rask Finland would have no chance at Bronze.. Congrats to Tuuka Rask!

Personally i think Downie should of got MVP, as he took Malkin off his game, scored the game winning goal, he must of played like 50 minutes of the game, drew numerous penalties for his hard work, every time you'd look he'd be out there, I dont want to take away from Pogge's MVP but yes he already got one in the tourney, but personally Downie would of been my choice.

Come on, Canada dominated that game. It would have been different if the final was 2-1 or something and thankfully that wasn't the case.

How does Marc Staal win the top defender award and not make it as a first team all star? Jack Johnson? You gotta be kidding me. That's bull$hit.

And Evgeni Malkin as top forward and MVP? Howabout Blake Comeau or Steve Downie? Tuuka Rask was the tourney's MVP if there ever was one.

Yea Staal and Parent were great. They completly shut down Kessel and Malkin.

I've been a big Parent fan since I saw him play in Guelph a few years ago. It was nice to see him play so well against the best U20's in the world and good to see the team come back after a less than stellar U18 performance.

I think Rask gave the Fins a chance in every game. Despite what Maguire thinks, he played great in every game and forced the teams to work their ass off to beat him.

The Leafs will be good in goal for a LONG time with Rask & Pogge.

As for the missed goal call...it would have made it 2-1 at the time. WHo knows if that could have made a difference to the way Russia played for the rest of the game. I'd expect a change to the WJC review system so that doesn't happen again.

I'm just glad it wasn't a 1 goal win, or that call would haunt this Gold medal.

Pogge is a Leafs pick? Wow, is it just me or are the Leafs starting to do something right at the draft now? Boyes was a great pick, but they shipped him off for Owen Nolan.

And if Pogge is in fact a Leafs pick, I'm seeing a goaltending controversy in the not so far off future...can anyone say trade bait?

Not to mention Telly who has been doing a good job.

THis just goes to show that there is a difference in between being confident and being cocky. I heard Malkin's comments after the game, and they make me like him even more, instead of talking about what went wrong like everyone else, he just praised Canada, and said they basically got outplayed.

I'm amazed Canada won to be honest. I'm also suprised USA didn't make it to the championship...Lots of suprises this year. I didn't see the championship televised, nor the Bronze game but I also heard Canada dominated the Russians, opposite of what the Russians said they would do to Canada.

oh, and what was the bronze game like? 4-2 Finland right? <_<

US had the best players but I think they lacked focus for some reason. That tie with Switzerland was what cost them a chance of winning, Sutter would never let Canada give up the lead like the US did. Canada got outshot like 34-19 but they weren't on their heels or anything, Russia just got a bunch of shots in the first period. Yes, it was 4-2 for Finland, no empty netter either.
