Graf does not change their lineup very often. The newest line of skates is the G series and those were relesed almost 2 years ago.

they introduced an ultimate g5 skate that has a new liner thats supposed to breath better then the g-series linger. the g35 is not available in Jr sizes with both cobra and t-blade options in the Srs only. All of there G-series skates will have there new tongue which is abit beefier uptop but lighter. On the ultimate g5 it has a cobra 4000 holder thats supposed to not absorb any moisture at all and they introduced a nice graf youth skate

Is this skate cosmetically the same or does it look different? Does this replace the G5 or is it a new skate in the line up?

Any info on the Cobra 4000 holder? Are there any big changes from the 3000 holder?

Remember what happened last time when Graf tried to reduce weight with the perforated steel? They had issues with durability and blades breaking. Hopefully these holders do not break easliy, just to save a few grams.

well the weigh reduction from what i gathered is going to be more based around the holder not absorbing as much moisture so same construction

Does the Ultimate G5 look like the G5?

Not really lighter but it is stiffer and should prevent the holder warping problem.

Stiffer than the Cobra 3000? I didn't think that was possible.

I have had the new Graf ULTRA G5 in my hand. It's last is based on the 705's with a new Cobra holder that is supposed to be more resisteant to moisture absorption thus less likely to soften over time. The steel is the same as what Graf has always used. The blade is now secured with alloy RMS screws instead of steel. The outer quarters are a new material (I forget what they called it but it is NOT Techlite) that has a unique look and strengthening structure to it. They were originally going to use the carbon sole but for production will be using the same sole as what was used on this years 735. They still will have the semi compsite inside counter sole thought modified to allow the RMS nuts to hold in place better.

The tongue is the new G series (Very Comfy). Will follow mith more info when available.

P.S. saw one pair BLACK Cobra holder, not in production apparently, but with pressure............................

Perhaps more durable is a better term. It will retain stiffness much longer than the 3000. I was impressed by the skate. It's the first time I can honestly say that about a Graf product other than the 750.
