RadioGaGa 162 Report post Posted January 10, 2006 Havent seen it yet, but i'd like to... Some guys on my team have seen it and said the excat same thing.... half porn/half horror. I guess they had to clean up puke before each show... So, the TV promos that say "...Paramedics had to be called to deal with the reactions of some movie goers" isn't all hype. It is that disturbing/graphic.

You dont really see whats happening to the people in Hostel, unlike SAW, but you can imagine it. There are some gorry/bloody seens, that are just downright disturbing. You can just imagine everything tahts happening to them.Mock
Vapor 0 Report post Posted January 12, 2006 There was no movie there. It was just there for shock. A real writter would have started this movie where this one ended, and take it from there. It was like, just, nothing. Terrible begining, terrible ending, predictable, just plain bad.
mack 44 Report post Posted January 12, 2006 Yeah, finding out the guy who did this also did "Cabin Fever" so no way am I even renting this. Cable can wait for this turd.

The reveiws also said it was the most disturbing movie in a long time. Your right it was shock, but that was the point of it.Mock
cameltaur 0 Report post Posted January 14, 2006 It was never supposed to be a GOOD movie...it was made for shock/entertainment value, not good reviews and awards. Both of those it definitely achieved...I was entertained. You can really pick out the parts that Tarantino had a lot of influence on, like the whistling. Both of those it definitely achieved...I was entertained. You can really pick out the parts that Tarantino had a lot of influence on, like the whistling. The problem with that is most people aren't likely to find a movie where the ONLY merit is shock value worth the ticket price. Heck, I wouldn't even watch it on TV.Now if the half porn half horror comment is true, the pricks stole my idea. I've been trying to convince people to make this kind of ultimate exploitation cinema for years. I even coined the term "Hor-nos" to describe it. I wonder if I could sue? Lucky for them that apparently the movie only cost $5 million to make...having grossed $20 million by the third day of release (a week ago, Jan. 6) I think their strategy worked. gotdangles16 0 Report post Posted January 14, 2006 yea it was only like 4 or 5 mill....saw that on Attack of the Show they had an interview with Eli..apparently it was supposed to be loosely based off something in Taiwan where you could go into a place, pay $10,000 to shoot someone in the head and apperantly the money went to whoever was killed.
