Scores all three in a 3-2 OT win on the road. Even the Ducks announcers were impressed. The kid is sick.

anyone see when vishnevski (sp?) tried to make a hit on him at the blue line? A-O absolutely dusted him....the kid does it all

was at the game, let me tell you AO is unreal. the most impressive thing wasnt his scoring 3 goals, or how fast he is, but the hit(s) he had on vishnevski and Beauchemin. he leveled both players

In the games I've seen you just end up on the edge of your seat on every shift.

I honestly hope AO wins the Calder...he doesn't complain about anything and has a terrible supporting cast in washington, and he goes out every night and plays his heart out.....he has a great future ahead of him

Alex is amazing. He reminds me of a young Pavel Bure, only way more physical. He is quickly becoming one of the best players in the NHL, and at only 20 that's quite an accomplishment.

I can't get enough of him.....he's just awesome.

If anyone is interested, here's a great site that has EVERY goal, assist and highlight hit Ovy has scored this season -

kids a stud. even my wife who is not really much of a hockey fan used the words "fucking amazing" to describe that second goal. I enjoyed this game even more since I hate the ducks so much!

its funny he's scored every capital goal on their current road trip.

Although the Vishnevsky hit was an ellbowing infraction by AO, I still loved to watch these clips.

The second goal "live" was crazy. You didn't know what happened. Then, it was even better on slo-mo replay. Down in the guts of the slot, in tight on d-man's feet, full 360, low bullet with gusto. Ya, f'n amazing!

saw him play 3 rows from the corner the other night in Dallas...seats where the Caps attacked twice..it was great watching him drive to the net, tongue hanging out just keeping the pressure on..very few people get me to shell $ out for a ticket nowadays, but I'll pay to see him play for years to come if he continues on like this

And he left his feet on at least two of those three "big" hits. Is that legal now-a-days? I didn't think it was, unless I've missed something in the new NHL.

most hits end up with players a little bit off of their feet because of the force.

Watch the first hit in the video of his 'two hits on one shift' clip and he jumps about a foot and a half into the air at the player when he realizes he's about to get hit. Clearly illegal. I know it happens all the time, but giving him credit for a good bit is a bit ambitious.

It's not just that he jumps to avoid the hit, it's more that he takes up his elbows in the motion, elbowing Vishnevsky in the head. It can be seen clearly on the replay at the end of the clip.

It was all reaction...it happened so fast, there's no way too avoid getting your arms up like that, unless you want to get hurt.

Also, both refs on the ice saw the hit and didn't call a penalty. Hell even the Ducks announcers, who are some of the biggest homers in broadcast history didn't mention anything about it being a dirty hit.
