Bauer Vapor SLF

Recommended Posts

SFL's are a cheaper version skates made for big buying groups, like chain stores and internet conglomerates. You won't find a SFL in the Bauer catalog. It's a special make up skate for that store or group. You have to ask them what kind of skate it is. I find them cheaper that the stock models.

It's basically a cheaper version of the Vapor XX. Very similiar to the Vapor XV, but with a few added features. If you want to get the THG skates look at these-THG Blems. Same skates, has a few blems, but you're playing hockey so it really doesn't matter.

A kid on my team had them, after 2 years they were in perfect condition still. they are Basically XVs and I thought the XVs were the best of the newer Vapor Models.

My LHS has a Special Make Up called the Shift. Much like hockeymonkey's THG SLF, they're basically Vapor XV (now the XIX) but with the Bauer 8000 outsole and liner.

The Shift's outlasted my both my XX and XXXs and were actually much more comfotable. That says a lot.

I had a pair of these and they were great for me, they are meant to be vapor xv's with the xx's runners and blades. I only broke 1 pair of blades and they lasted over a year. After about a year i got a slap shot to the side of the foot and got some major swelling, but this was afteer the skates had lost some stiffness. But if you can get a pair this cheap they are worth trying out. Get the cosmetic blem ones...i may even get me another pair at that price

I was just wondering about the sole of this boot. They look nice and sound good from what you say, but I also want a pair of ice skates to convert to roller, with a Hummer chassis, and was wondering if the sole was at all recessed under the runner (i beleive the XXX is, so was wondering about this boot)...hope this makes sense!!

Cheers

I have a pair of XV's and the outsole is recessed in the front and the back. I can try and take some pics if you want.

SFL is just a slogan for the Vapor line: "Stronger, faster, lighter." THG is what you mean: The Hockey Group.
