Wood Of OPS

Recommended Posts

Composite OPS or combo. I've found them to be a better value, since a wood could break after two games.

Conversely, I've had three composite/aluminum break over ten years. One was accidentally driven over when it had slipped in the garage; one got stuck in the zamboni door; and one broke in half when a complete frickin' idiot checked me unexpectedly in a no-check tournament.

Other than that, none have broken on me.

I decided to use wood for the last few weeks, but I am sorry I even switched back. Granted, I do have a bit more puck feel, but the release isn't as quick, and the shot feels sloppier. I think going back to a composite with a composite blade may help things out. As of now, I'm switching back to an ultra-lite with a Rb PRO blade on it.

I mainly use a shaft and ABS blade combo for concrete surface, and I'm still trying to get a feel for a composite OPS on wooden surface.

Comp shaft with Comp blade= $$$

just as much as a one piece, i recall.

Heh?

My apologies. I had been awake for less than 10 minutes when writing that.

What I thought I read was that composite shafts plus composite blades cost too much, or are very costly (hence you using =$$$) to which my reply is that a composite shaft/blade combo is just as much as a one piece.

A bit clearer?
