Deathmoves 0 Report post Posted January 24, 2006 having a chew is the best allternative to smoking it gives u nicotine while not killing ur performance on the ice. it obviously has its harmful side but it is less than half as likely to give you mouth cancer as smoking is to give you lung cancer. ive jus started to start it myself and now i never need a cigarette. no hard feelings but thats the dumbest excuse for chewing ive ever heard. both are terrible for your body and most of the time (i know theres one or two people that arnt effected) but its going to hurt you some time or anohter. so the best thign to do would be to not do either. chew gum instead, some can even whiten your teeth :D I agree, guy must be an idiot. If u wanna quit smoking and chew, then chew nicotine gum. Or use patchs!

ambro 0 Report post Posted January 24, 2006 I'm not positive, but I don't think that makes much sense. You probably mean:"A dip is less harmful than a cigarette for sure."
tyler9 0 Report post Posted January 24, 2006 If you've ever used nicotine gum its relatively uses the same process at getting nicotine iton ur system as chew. You chomp on it then stick it in your lip and suck on it.

PiKappaPhi 0 Report post Posted January 24, 2006 ok, so don't dip or chew (cause they are different). I had more trouble tryin to quit chew than quit smoking. I couldn't believe it was more difficult, but its just so much harder. But if you insist, southern pride chew is the way to go, and if dip is your poison, cop. black but then take some Jim Beam and put it in the tin (its an UNREAL taste). And finally, a bit of humor. We are a bunch of hockey players who are runnin from this stuff cause "you may lose your teeth".....don't we run that chance every time we get on the ice? Adam91 0 Report post Posted February 1, 2006 Did any of you see the article in THN a few issues back about dipping? I was suprised so many NHL'ers still do it despite it being so bad for your health and considering what high performace athletes they are.
