Visors

Recommended Posts

Was just wondering which visor has the most protection and the longest length--

1) Itesh HS22 straight cut

2) Itech HS22 aviator cut

3) Oakley pro striaght

4) Oakley pro modifed

Does anyone know actuall length of these visors? Im looking for a visor with no vents - that i can move close to my eyes and tilt lower down to cover more of my face and prevent a stick from going up and under - i was wondering which would provide the best protection.

Also when i was doing a search i noticed a bunch of topics on Heatleys visor - that would be perfect for me. I noticed it wasnt for sale and that he had it special altered-cut for himself. Anyone know where i could get this done or how mucn it would cost ?

Ben

Oakley Straight and Itech Straight are too small IMO.

Played with both the Oakley Modified Aviator and Itech Pro Wave.

The Itech fits closer to the head, and fogs less. It's smaller than the OMA but protects better (again IMO) because it sits much closer to the face. Makeing it harder for a stick to get up under it.

Both have great vision, but man the IPW is sweet, play Inlinehockey and the difference in fogging is noticeable. + It's cheaper.

You also have to take into consideration which helmet you are useing. Play with a Bauer 4000 and the visor's fits lower and better to the head than on CCM helmets.

For some helmets the Oakley will fit better, others the Itech, and for most the same.

:)

Of the 4 noted, the Oakley pro modified provides the most protection. Any of the visor can be put close to the face because of the slots where the screws go. You may experience fogging issues from having the visor very close to your face.

Ditto on the Pro Wave nomination. The only place I've even gotten nicked when using that thing is square on the nose. The vision and breathability of the visor is top notch as well. Fogging is never a SERIOUS issue, towards the end of the game, it will fog up JUST a bit from the sweat buildup, but it's not enough to even impair my vision.

Didnt mention the Pro Wave on my list because i dont like the way it looks-- to sharp-cool i guess. I like something simple that doesent stand out--- like the rest of my equipment. (except my Vector skates)

2 guy's on my team have the Oakley 2.0 visor (old Jofa) and there is alot of room between the visor and you face, when it's properly adjusted, way too much IMO.

It has good visabillity though, and doesn't fog too bad (since it's so far away...).
