i was playing varisty, I have found the easton stealth to give a decent pop. THe best thing about the bat was its incredible balance. Perfect for line drives etc. I also had a denmarini Vexxum and that had more pop but it was weighted all toward the end.

I play for Varsity on my HS team, and my summer team won the Mass. State Championship last summer.

I still have found that one piece bats ala TPS give me more pop then a 2 piece ala Stealth or Demarini. I use a TPS Warrior, and I think its one of the best bats out there now. If you can find an old Omaha Gold bat, id suggest that, there hasnt been a better bat put to the market the the Omahas.

stix04, Now that i think about it, you are right. TPS bats have beastly pop compared to the ones that i mentioned but, I could never get used to those and other omahas etc. I have always liked the feel of the whole "flex" effect. aka "the bat that bends" etc. I used to love the original gold connection.

I play baseball for my HS too. I'm only a Freshman so I'm on the Sophomore team. I use an Easton Stealth too. Amazing, great pop. Before that, I had a Demarini Vexxum. I could crush the ball, but just didn't have the same pop as the Stealth. If I were you, I would go for a two piece with a composite handle. Loads better than an all medal bat.

I use wood in high school and in my house league, and metal in summer league. I prefer metal but see where they feel the need to use wood to prevent injuries, etc.

I play Bantam AAA baseball and have went to nationals a few times, and I have to use -3 bats and I used a 2005 Air Omaha and 2005 888 Connexion and Z-Core Connexion and hated both the Connexions,I really like Omaha bats and TPX GEN1X bat.

ive been through every bat in the books and i just cant decide what gives me better pop. i have 2 of the vexxums, i have the 05' stiff stealth, i have the 06' stiff stealth, and ive been through a few tps. so far the 06' with the CNT has been a winner for me but im sick of breaking the bats at the connection points. has any one tried out the new tpx with the cut outs in the handle? not sure what its called. exo or something like that.

Aluminum/composites are great until you get to leagues where everyone has guys who can hit the 90s. 3B are my heroes.

Very true. In my house league though, the highest kids can throw is maybe 70's, a couple 80s. Its a U16 league, but some kids can hum it. Anyway we use wood because the directors felt that wood may prevent serious injuries cause by balls being hit with metal bats. Its a smart idea, I just prefer metal over wood.

im a catcher and a 3rd baseman for my varsity team and we have metal bats. some kids can bring the ball high 80's and when one of thoes come at me down at third, theres nothing really to do but pray. wood would be alot safer but i dont see any changes coming any time soon.

Not to mention that everyone's a dead pull hitter when it comes to composite bats...put a wood bat in their hands and they don't know what to do...all their "power" is gone.

Back in HS most were in the 80s and then then when Legion tourneys and travel teams came up it was all baptism by fire. I remember playing in Mexico and our 14yo team played a "14yo" team with players that had full beards and the stadiums ranged from bullfighting arenas to places with insane 20' high walls.

They had easily the craziest stadiums around. One was literally an old bullfighting (hell I think they still fought in it) arena and the fences were probably 500' around, with a huge flagpole in CF about 300' deep.

I remember a stadium with dimensions bigger than some college stadiums that had a fences like you talked about. Concrete going about 10' up, then a chainlink fence on top of that with barbed wire on top of that. I remember our best pitcher being a kid who didn't give up an earned run the season before comes in, faces this El Gigante-looking gorilla and this kid just launches one over Guantanamo Bay's in LF. Kid had all sense of manhood taken away or something because he just put his face in his mitt and cried.

Sorry for bringing back an old topic, but I am in need of a new baseball bat, and have no idea what to get.

It needs to be 32 inches, 29 ounces. I have a Stealth Reg Flex in the 31/28 but its getting too short. I am torn between a couple of bats. The Demarini Vexxum, Demarini VooDoo, Easton Stealth CNT Comp 07, Stealth CNT 06, Rawlings LiquidMetal Plasma Fusion and the TPX Exo Grid...Any thoughts???

Thanks...

I discourage the Vexxum if your previous bat is a stealth. The Vexxum is weighted like a cone while the balance of the stealth is more towards the middle of the bat. I would go for the newer stealth.

What I forgot to add is that I'm also trying to save a little bit of money. I'll probably bid on one on ebay. Is the 07 Stealth that much better than the 06???

AHhh baseball.

I used to play girls fastball and boys baseball. Catcher.

Girls team we could use whichever bat we wanted. I used wood since thats what we had to use in boys ball.

It was awesome. Though, I still think the girl I caught for could throw harder than the guy.

I stopped playing baseball about 7 years ago because of a shoulder injury I suffered while throwing a football without warming up. But before I got injured I was selected and went to the provincial finals a couple of times. I am missing playing ball so much recently that's all I think about right now. I started to pitch again with friends about a week ago and the shoulder feels fine so far. I might enter a softball league next year and I'll see what happens from there. I never got my pitch radared but some of my friends told me that if was for sure up to 80 for my fastball and that for about 5-6 innings (the top pitchers in the MLB can throw up to 100).

I was also a very good hitter, we had a MLB size field where I come from and when I was about 13 I used to get it over the fence once in a while.
