EAGLE gloves

Recommended Posts

I have been looking at some eagles and thought of maybe getting some next time i need a pair but i have heard from a number of people not to buy them. I have tried on a few and they have all felt rather light i like the feel but people always tell me that they are only light because they have a lack of padding and that whenever they fall on their hands or hit the boards it hurts. Has anyone had this problem, would you recomend eagles and if not what would you recomend?

I was wearing Eagles when i sprained my thumb, actually hurt like a bitch. Eagle is probably the nicest looking glove, but least protection, UNLESS you order customs and get more added etc.. If your willing to wait, the Supreme 90 glove should be a very nice glove, i got a chance to try it on... Also look at TPS HGTs. Mine are very protective.

I was wearing Eagle x70's when I broke my finger. They are not the most protective. I think alot of gloves are comfortable and protective as long as they have some protective inserts. Find a good feeling pair and check for inserts. I'm currently wearing Mission Helium HE750, very nice gloves.

they dont seem that cheap to me considering they are used. are they really that good?

Very,Very good gloves. You can get the Leather(portofino) ones on eBay for $49.

Those are expensive because they are Pro Return 50/50(Half Cableknit/Half Portofino)

Eagles are still my favorite gloves, I've had 1 pair of X50, 3 pair of X70, 1 pair of CP92, 1 pair of CP94, and a pair of L30. Never had a problem with protection, granted I don't play at a high level of competition these days. Also most of them have had plastic inserts throughout which makes some difference.

Louisville HGT's are the only other gloves I wear which are very nice also. The pair in that auction are nice, almost identical to a pair I have except mine are all nylon. I don't think the price is bad, the palms look good and the seller says they have plastic inserts which is nice if you have protection concerns.

I'm betting the protection on the One90's is questionable at best. Remember that these companies have a goal- to sell equiptment. The goal isn't to protect you. They only put padding in there because it's a selling feature for the gloves?

Although, you should try and get your hands on the SDP pro gloves. They're some of the nicest gloves around.

i also am going to be needing new gloves pretty soon. i am looking into MIA's because i have heard nothing but good things about them, nobody that i play with has them, and i can get them custom ordered. i had mission M-1's whihc were a smaller, tighter fitting glove which i did not like. my brother left a pair of eagle x51-g's at my house and i started using them. i love them, and the way they fit loose. he now is going to take them back. I also am going to look at compatibly priced eagles (to the MIA's). can i get custom (color/lettering) eagles for that price? ($150-$200). if not, whats the compatable eagles for the price? i was looking at the x70, which is obviously cheaper (not such a bad thing)

you can get custom eagles in that price range but don't plan on getting them anytime soon. long turn around. others have said that mia is like 3 weeks turn around.

look at hockey giant. they have pro return bauer 5000s for 79.99. great glove. i recently got a pair. fit is slightly tighter than my x-51s. but the padding is better in the 5000s. triple density foams, plastic inserts everywhere. mine are 50/50 but they have all nylon also.

Eagles are just okay, they're nothing special. My favorite gloves by far are my Mission L-7s followed by Easton Pro stocks, and they were about half the price of my X-70s.

Please look into the nylon eagles Jason is selling at eastwest hockey. Those gloves have a good amount of protection and the waiting time is as long it takes FedEx to get it to your house.

I have the Black CP94 which are far and away the best glove I have ever worn-period.

I have a pair of X-70’s I got. Yea there pricey but there the best gloves I have ever had. I personally have had no protection problems with them ether and I have now had mine for a while and the palms are still the original ones.

i've been rockin x 70's for the past 3 seasons and i really like them. sometimes i feel like they could be a little tighter, but that's just personal preference. i would have to agree about the non hardcore protection though. i personally have never had any hand injuries while wearing my eagles, but i could see it. you would have to be in a fairly compramising situation though. i've gloved down slapshots with my palm before too, so maybe i just have non breaking type hands

I have Eagle H34's, and there are H35's with extra length, but with the elbow pad extentions you see these days, the H34's are good.

These are the tan leather 'vintage' ones, and I have to say they are without question the most comfortable, and easily high up on the protection pole than any other glove. Never had an injury (4 years and running), and they age and work in incredibly well.

I will probably never use another glove other than Eagle, but I like the complete leather ones, they are my favourite...

We have the MIA's in stock at our LHS, i think the price is 160-170 USD. Slightly cheaper than the eagles.

Also Extremely comfortable glove, no break in time at all.
