Slapshot9123 0 Report post Posted March 8, 2006 Well I have a huge problem here. Here in Illinois there really isnt a shop to get skates at unless I want to get like pf2 but I dont. So my only option is online. On ebay I can get some good deals on these following skates. R, RL, Violaters, Proto Si, Acceleators All new and all for arround the same price. I can also order the He550 but I am looking to save as much money as possible for a new stick. Can you tell me your experiences, problems, and what you liked about the skates. Also, how do they stack up with each other. Any input will be helpful. Thanks For Any HelpColin
JSchultz 25 Report post Posted March 8, 2006 Where in IL are you?The 5500 are good skates. I believe quite a few people here have them, and they are a popular skate at my rink. I ordered 9500's from ePuck, cos nobody in IL has them retail.Don't skimp on skates. Skates and stick are the most essential pieces of playing hockey. Funny, I play at Homer right now.Not much in your area, I'd say. Isn't there a Gunzo's in Alsip? I swore there was. If so, I KNOW they have the 5500 skate. Their Morton Grove, and Darien stores have it.
