A question for T-Blade experts

Recommended Posts

Recently I tried 2 different pairs of T-blade runners. One was L-13-264 and the other was L-11-264. Being of the same rocker, I figured the whole profile should be identical but as you can see in the picture, there's a big difference in the way the fronts of the blades curve up. It wouldn't bother me so much if not for this: I found that I wasn't getting enough grip from the L-13-264 so then I tried the L-11-264 which had way too much grip... so much so that I had to wear them down considerably before I could even think of braking with any degree of control. I had previously tried M-13-264 and M-11-264 and had not had this problem of excessive grip.

Considering the difference in profile and the extreme difference in grip, is it possible that my L-11-264 was mis-labeled at the factory? The L-11-264 lettering was just a sticker as opposed to the embossed lettering of the L-13-264 as you can also see in the picture. Or did T-Blade change their blade profiles at some point in time?

I asked the pro shop guy these questions but he couldn't answer.

Thanks in advance.

It seemed like T-Blade changed the way they were marking the runners. I think they went from label to embossed. Most likely these were produced somewhat apart in time and they changed the profile they were using in the interim.

Hey Jason, your suggestion to e-mail them paid off. I got a great response from Mathias Kunz today, and it confirmed your educated guess.

He said that my L-11-264 was their older rocker geometry, and that it was confirmed in part by the sticker labeling. They changed the profile after consistent feedback from CCM, dealers, and end users that they should have closer to TUUK and ProLite rockering.

How's that for customer service!

Form my conversation with him at the show last year, he really seems like a good guy.
