I just wanted to take a quick moment to introduce myself before I start posting away. I have been to this site numerous times in the past, as I feel it has some of the best information out there with regards to hockey equipment. You guys have a nice thing going here. So I figured I would finally join you all in the fun.

I am relatively new to the game. I started playing a year ago and have loved every minute of it. Hockey is an awesome sport. I have nephews who I have been watching play for years now, it's nice to finally be off the bleachers and on the ice myself. I don't want to get long winded so I will leave it at this for now. I am sure the rest will come out in time.

A friend gave me a link to mod squad, and I have been reading for a while now.

I've been playing hockey for about 4 years now and loving it. I used to play in Illinois, just outside Chicago for my high school team, then my family moved back to england where I started attending Oxford Brookes University. I now play for the Oxford University Vikings, a mixed team between Oxford and Oxford Brookes. It is a great team where we have a lot of fun, and hope to win more games next season

Well, honestly, this board isnt that profitable for you as a person.

You will see a lot of new sticks, skates and whatnot and you just have to get new stuff in a specific period of time and that will empty your wallet.

I am glad that you clarified. I thought he WAS a she in a previous post that I read. I think it was the "show off your gear" thread...allow me to mention that it was due to the name and avatar...not the gear. Ha ha.

What did I miss regarding the "having to buy new gear within a specific period of time"? Or do you just mean because the forum "feeds" one's hunger for new/better gear? I like looking for sure, but I have to stay on a budget for the time being.

That's our master plan, getting everyone addicted to equipment here at MSH. Then we can sell our 12 step recovery program to everyone and make a mint.
