Muskoka Hockey, whats the deal?

Recommended Posts

Can anyone tell me what happened to Muskoka?

They came from nowhere, made some great gloves and then seemingly dissapeared. They had a lot of similarities to Eagle gloves, were they just knock offs or were some of the folks behind the development also at Eagle?

The last pair of "new" Muskoka's I saw had like carbon fiber logos and three-piece fingers which were the first pair I'd seen. They fit wonderfully but my LHS wanted like $250 for them. I never saw this new line on their website which hasn't been updated in like three or four years. Anyone have any insight on the matter?

No, they are still in biz. I used their bags for our travel team. The bags were pretty good with logos screened on. I agree with JR that the gloves are $$$. I do a custom make-up in 11" and 12" for the travel team that sell with the team name embroidered on the cuff. The 13" and 14" gloves are too pricey so they don't sell as well. Somebody on ebay was dumping a boatload of Muskoka gloves just the other day. The good thing about Muskoka vs Eagle is Muskoka will ship! My Eagles just got too hard to get and took way too long for delivery. Whats the point of tieing up inventory $ in product that gets shipped too late or never at all?

I love their wood sticks too... If he ever made that Classic in a Coffey curve, it would sell a lot better.

Their pants are really really nice too.. and he does logo embroidering with very fast turn around too.

Of course they'll ship when they don't have any accounts!

Everyone keeps on saying that about Eagle, how they don't ship...but when you're a manufacturer who has a niche product who is trying to crank out a lot of gloves to meet demand, it's hard. Now when you don't have as much demand or accounts (MIA, Muskoka) it's easier to supply stores.

I used to want their gloves until I saw the price tag! A couple people that I know have used some of their wood sticks and loved them too.

Yes, but Eagle lets their reps oversell and overbook their product. Its like when you book a plane flight only to get to the airport and find you don't have a seat on the plane! So, if ABC Airline gets me to the same place on time, its ABC Airline for me!
