Lindy Ruff goes off

He's also gone after much tougher players. Tried to fight Sutton earlier on in the season, beat the crap out of Janssen who is a legit tough guy and really doesn't pick his spots.

Honestly, I've probably watched Tucker play as many games as anyone else on the board with a few exceptions, and he isn't a kneer.  In fact, I really can't remember another time he has thrown one.  If you say the hit on Peca, thats BS, Tucker went low because Peca raised up to hit him in the head.

Its like I said earlier the fact that its Darcy Tucker automatically makes many people think it was either A. dirty B. deserved because of past actions or C. both.  Remember his hit on Kapanen?  Anybody who rewatched it objectively clearly saw it was 100% clean.  But because it was Darcy, of course many people thought it was dirty, etc.

Tucker has a reputation similar to Kasparaitis in that he often tries to go low on guys. Both of them have cause knee injuries with their cheap antics and both cry like babies any time someone tries to take them up on it. Tucker is also one of the biggest divers in the league. If someone gets within two feet of him he is either down or crying to the refs about a phantom call. It's kind of fitting that his brother in law is Shane "I'm taking my puck and going home" Corson.

Darcy goes down a lot, but I wouldn't call him a cry baby. In fact, he is the complete opposite. If somebody hits him or his teammate and he doesn't like it, he'll defend himself and/or his team. Take the Kovalev situation for example. It isn't like he laid on the ice and cried about it. He got up and tried to fight him. Just because Kovalev backed down doesn't mean Darcy didn't try. Or a few years ago when Green got hit from behind by Neil (I think) and Darcy fought him on the bench. Cry babies back down from confrontation, and I don't think you can say that about him.

If going after Kovalev is a sign of toughness in your book then you've got a little to learn about this game.

So you're saying if Kovalev elbowed you in the face you'd just skate away because he is a pussy? Right.

According to hockeyfights.com, Darcy in his career has fought:

Darryl Bootland, Cam Janssen, Steve Ott, Chris Neil, Shane Hnidy, Brad Ference, Bill Guerin, Rob Ray, Todd Simpson, Kelly Buchberger, Jamal Mayers, Matthew Barnaby, Ed Jovanovski, Luke Richardson, Kevin Deenin, Dale Hunter, Darius Kasperitis, Steve Thomas, among others. So I guess he just goes after softies, huh.

He fought Barnaby? I guess one of them had to ruin their streak by winning.

Does anyone have video of the hit? I was checking espn but they're all about the NCAA basketball championship and football trades.

It's apperantly on TSN's site and Buffalo's site. Although the Buff site requires you to sign up as an insider.

I watched 3 sports shows last night and didn't see the hit replayed. Apperantly TSN showed it, but I don't usually watch their highlights and Headline sports decided to show it later in the night after it became an issue.

And in that list is how many bonafide heavyweights again? Seriously, if you want to prove the tough guy defense, you don't offer up opponents like Kasparaitis, Dineen, Thomas, Mayers, or Hunter (cheap shot artist who took his challenges and lost most of them). This argument is like trying to say Jeff Odgers was a bonafide tough guy. Yes, he fought and got tooled every time.

When did anyone claim Tucker was a heavyweight? He's fought whoever is around at that point. Janssen fought McGratton the other night, I'd definately classify that as a heavyweight fight. Possibly toss in Ray depending on the year. Neal can be considered boarderline. The list shows he doesn't pick his spots.

Keep in mind he is 160 pounds soaking wet. Put him up against guys 100 pounds heavier (guys he doesn't back down from) and what can you expect?

i want to see tucker try this against ottawa. McGratton will murder him. I say a one punch tilt

He's tried it against Ottawa in the past. McGratton knows he wouldn't be able to get into a fight with Tucker. McGratton one punching Tucker isn't exactly a bold prediction.

In the past three years hes gotten in major altercations with Fisher, Neil, and the whole Neil/Hnidy bench fight. It isn't like he tones down his game against the Sens.

Tucker tryed to pull of the same thing with Kovy about 2 weeks ago but Kovy got him after, he should have been suspended for that hit on Hecht though.

Tucker tried to elbow Kovy about 10 seconds before Kovy gave him is moneys' worth. I probably would have done the same thing that Kovy did if I would have had an elbow brush my head.

I liken it to a hitman on his way to shoot his target. He jumps in his car and accidentally runs over the target and unknowingly kills him. It wasn't his intention to run him over, but the end result is the same and the intent was there.

That's not an analogy one reads every day, Eazy. :D

Finally got to see the replay on ESPN.com. Could Tucker have made more of a dive out of Hecht's retaliation? It looked like the Hasek special. What a jackass.
