Mission L7

I have no past experience in these skates... But, before someone beats me to it, I'll say these two things:

1) Find out if it fits your foot.

2)Go to your LHS to see if it fits your foot, and then, buy it if it does-anywhere you'd like. Just make sure you know it fits your foot before you buy it ANYWHERE.

Just being curious, what are your current skates?

He950's.

I pegged this deal in search of a new boot to mount, but may pick up another pair to start playing ice...

I noticed the boots are of the same year, so I ASSUMED that the sizing should be the same across the models, am I a dufus for thinking that?

Also, there is no LHS within the state lines (TX) that carries these skates. At least not that I know of, or anywhere near me for that matter.

dont use ur LHS as a fitting guide. it probably should fit the same size.

Ok, so, is 200 dollars for this skate NOT a good deal? Should I try something else? Are they paper lemons?

I think the buyer beware part meant beware of the online merchant.

Ah, ok, that makes me feel a little better. I buy stuff from Hockeygiant all the time and I haven't gotten hosed yet. I am however half expecting a phone call saying that they meant YOUTH sizes are that price...

No those prices are for senior sizes and poke around the forum for peoples experiences with hockeygiant. I've never bought from them but I get the idea they're the lesser of all the evils.

And being in Texas, I can understand if you don't have a LHS. But otherwise we try to encourage people to buy from the LHS.

Dealer cost on them was well over $200 when they came out last year.

i meant about the online retailer. hockeygiant has been good to me. these skates are the top of the "lite fit" series skates. they should be pretty good if they fit well

IMO this whole series (the L series) was pretty crappy. Mission had a slight nitch going there in the S series and I supported that movement (even though as a 200+ lbs skater I would like them to be a hair stiffer). The L series was a crappy attempt by mission to do what everyone else does (stiffer and higher). Also, just think about it, that skate was out brand new a year ago and now its suddenly being blown out for 200 bucks. Yes, I know the new model is out but cmon, dont you think that mission would have run it for 2 years had it been a decent product??? Also, the statement of buyer beware was very accurate not only because this looks like the deal of the century but because it will fit nothing like your he 950 rollers (width or length). If you cant find a LHS to atleast try an L series on at then you shouldnt even consider these skates (also, I hate it when people pimp LHS for sizing). Great deals arent everything in this world, great service is! Not trying to come off harsh but really, everybody, stop pimping the local guy.

I sold alot of L5s, to happy customers. They weren't terrible skates and there were some other factors involved with them being discontinued.

I had the L-7's and they weren't badly constructed skates. My beef was the fit. Just didn't like the way they felt on my feet or on the ice. For a guy looking for a good deal on a decent pair of blades the L-5 or L-7 aren't a bad option. With the Pitch 3 holder it makes them a pretty decent buy. If you like a slimmer fitting skate the L series will work for you. I have a wider foot and tend to stick to a CCM/Easton fit. As previously mentioned numerous times, fit is everything when it comes to skates so take your time trying them on and get them if they work for you without any pain. You can bake them as well to make them fit even better. In my opinion if they fit with no or little pain to start before baking they are a good go. ;)

Your wrong on a few points....Crappy? Can you give details on why they are crappy? You can't just make empty statements...I can say (insert any skate name) are crap...But without facts on why they are crappy, my statement would be worthless...

As for the fit compared to 950s, they are built on the same last and should fit the same in terms of width and length. The L7's are built closer to our Roller skates than any other Mission Skate. The L7s fit similar to the 10000/9500, (which has been our best selling roller line).

I am done with people making negative statements without reasons about any product (Mission or other brands)...

Isnt' the Fuel XP just the next progression of the L series? Might as well morph both lines at the same time..

I am having an issue with the L7 skates. I'm trying to track them down for my brother, but both pairs we've found have the same problem. On the left skate, there is a crack in the arch. On the outside, you can see the boot does not curve gradually from the outsole up to the laces. It forms a point. My brother says the right boot feels perfect. I'm holding one of the pairs now, and I am waiting for a pair to come from another location.

Saw the third pair last night. It had the same problem, abeit subtler. If you want 8.5 EE, there are two pairs at National Sports Brampton, ON. Ended up going for a different skate.

I bought the L5 skate at the beginning of the year and LOVE them. The fit was good (I baked them anyway). The pitch holder is a great idea and the blade is the best I have used. Really keeps an edge. Then I bought the L5 glove. Great glove! I bought the black baseball cap w/ logo. I can't stop buying mission products! My 3 boys will be sporting mission gear this year, too. Your welcome Justin. Any free-be's would be appreciated. :)

I have medium arches. I tried on Vectors, they hurt. I tried on Tacks. They seemed really bulky. I tried on Vapors. I don't recall why I didn't like them. I tried on the S-series and the L-series. They both fit well. I almost bought the S400, but I was concerned about the ankle support. I'm happy with the L's, but part of me still wants the S's.
