mik3 1 Report post Posted April 24, 2006 Yeah, unless Tennessee takes him. Otherwise he'll fall to 7 or

mik3 1 Report post Posted April 24, 2006 And that's if there's no trades. SF might move up. Minnesota might move up. Jets might move up. San Diego's probably moving up.
mack 44 Report post Posted April 24, 2006 Seeing as how Tennessee can't draft, they may go right for Young. I'd rather see them trade down and take Cutler.
mik3 1 Report post Posted April 24, 2006 If Tennessee takes Young or Cutler it'd probably screw everything up. Leinart might end up in NY then.
mack 44 Report post Posted April 24, 2006 I'm not a fan of Leinart, but I'd rather have him over Young. At least he knows the system, but Tennessee needs help at quite a few places. As for trades, I'll be amazed if the top 5 looks anything like it does now next weekend.
mik3 1 Report post Posted April 24, 2006 If I was the Packers I'd trade Favre for a first rounder this year and next year, but that's me. San Diego is looking to trade Donnie Edwards and move into the top 10.
LegoDoom 0 Report post Posted April 24, 2006 Bush goes firstWilliams goes secondLeinart thirdFerguson fourthHawk 5thDavis 6thYoung 7thJustice 8thHuff 9thCutler 10th I think Cutler will be the 2nd QB taken. I also don't see how NO could take Williams. They need either Hawk or Ferguson. And if it goes anything like this, I'd want the Eagles to trade up to 11 and get Ngata or Bunkley. LegoDoom 0 Report post Posted April 24, 2006 If I was the Packers I'd trade Favre for a first rounder this year and next year, but that's me. Who would trade two 1sts for a very old QB who can't decide if he wants to retire or not?
mik3 1 Report post Posted April 24, 2006 If they don't take Williams they'll take Ferguson. But Williams has pretty much put himself in the same position as Bush. That, "Even though this isn't the smart pick, you don't pass up on him" position.

Who would trade two 1sts for a very old QB who can't decide if he wants to retire or not? A team late in the first round, or a one and a two next year. He can still play, just not with that horrible team. He probably has two years left at a high level with a quality line.

That, "Even though this isn't the smart pick, you don't pass up on him" position. They don't have anywhere to play him though. They really should trade down and take Hawk. mik3 1 Report post Posted April 24, 2006 Personally, I think Bush and Leinart are going to be mediocre at best pros. But Bush is one of those picks that you get killed if you pass up on.
LegoDoom 0 Report post Posted April 24, 2006 The only reason Bush won't be an incredible pro is because he's not the type that will get the ball enough. He'll be like a better Brian Westbrook who will only carry the ball 10-15 times a game and grab 5-8 catches. Still will be a game changing back, but I don't see him putting up incredible number. It'll be interesting to see how he does behind a poor offensive line.
mik3 1 Report post Posted April 24, 2006 His rookie year he'll probably do the most damage returning kicks.
mik3 1 Report post Posted April 24, 2006 I'm hoping minnesota takes a RB so Sims possibly falls to the Giants. If not I hope they take Joseph or Carpenter.

You do realize that the teams that have picks in the late first round were the teams that made it deep into the playoffs, right? Generally those teams don't need a QB. LegoDoom 0 Report post Posted April 24, 2006 His rookie year he'll probably do the most damage returning kicks. I don't know many teams who would put a $30M rookie in a position to get injured by letting him return kicks.

I don't know many teams who would put a $30M rookie in a position to get injured by letting him return kicks. Well, they're going to have to do something with him. Otherwise all he's going to do is be a third and long back or line up in the slot sometimes.
LegoDoom 0 Report post Posted April 24, 2006 Why would the Jets or the 9ers invest that much of their future when they're not close to making a SB push? It's just way too much for an aging QB.
