custom synergys

Recommended Posts

Wasn't there an article in some hockey magazine some years ago (don't remember which one) where a journalist visited the Easton factory to make a story about composite sticks, and they made him his very own stick (I think it was a Synergy) and even put his name on it? Not sure if they made a custom curve though or just took any curve, but still.

Here's what your looking for...

ya the branches as a one piece sucked. i brought mine to school, chopped the blade, hollowed where the blade was and made a standard shaft outa it. best shaft i ever owned. lasted the entire season.

Is it feasible that easton might open their catalog of curves already made so that people could order those at a min. order thus avoiding having to make new moulds, then slap the customers name on it?

- or is there an element of confidentiality just in case a player is naughty and has ordered an illegal curve(i.e. might give opposition an advantage)

Secondly, do you have your own curve or get to pick your fave pro pattern?

You could get around the illegal curves by just not offering them at all. YOu know, just not acknowledge that they exist.

The offering of already existent pro patterns is a good idea but might be difficult to implement. You have to have the manufacturing capacity to add those new "custom" orders to the mix. Covering promo (pro) and retail is already putting a lot on your plate.

For enough money, anything is feasible. It would raise the cost of sticks though as it would be far less efficent than only making the normal retail patterns available to the public.

I would rather see some patterns removed or replaced. I'm sure the RP pattern would sell 1000x more then the Shanahan or the Drury. I think what Easton should do is survey hockey players and see what curves we like best, and try using them the following year. They already have the dies made, so I think it would work.

It must be kind of like an area-based thing, becasue at the end of the season you walk through all the stores in my area and all you see are Shanny's, any flex. One store actually had a "Shanahan Sale" where only Shanny blades and sticks were on sale, and even then they didnt sell.

I would have to say the Modano is the most popular here with the Sakic a close second, and I am speaking for most of the GTA that I have seen. It is definatly an area thing then.

At SportCheck in Canada all they sell is Shannahan, synergys, blades and wood sticks, you name it if its easton its shannahan at sportcheck which drives me crazy cuz I hate shannys. I think its more of a area thing and what is offered, no one knos for sure what their best curve is becasue no one has been able to get a hold of evey single curve to expieremnt with.

I'm working on it. I'm only missing a few at this point.

I've used a couple of different Roenick retails. Yes, I've used most current retail curves. There are some I still haven't tried but would like to try and others that I have no interest in trying.

Shannahan, Lidstrom, and Drury are the 3 nastiest blades i have ever seen. Yzerman is borderline. Iggy, Sakic, and Modano are the 3 best curves.

yea, i read about that in a popular science magazine, he went down to the easton factory in mehico and they let him hand lay the carbon fiber for the shaft and maybe the blade, but it didn't really matter, because the guy couldn't even skate, much less play hockey
