I honestly don't think he'll retire. But who knows, we won't find out until late June as he said in an interview that was on NHL.com .

But... who do you guys think would take the C and the As. I think Shanny or Lidstrom would be Captain, and then either Shanny or Lidstrom as one of the As and maybe Zetterberg as the other. I think in the long run though, Zetterberg is going to end up as captain.

i think the C and A's will be tossed between Lidstrom, Shanny, and Draper.

Ok, I was just reading through NHL.com again and I found a new article that says Yzerman will announce whether he will play a 23rd season sometime in the next month. Kinda weird that they said two different times, in two different articles. I wonder which one is right?

reports on the radio say yzerman will make his announcement by the end of the week. btw, his injury is belived to be brokenor cracked ribs.

at one time his line was probert-yzerman-kocur, yzerman's personal body gaurds. two nhl coaches were also line mates at one time (paul mcclean[det] and gerard gallent[c-bus])

I think he should come back...get 8 goals to get to 700...and retire the night he gets there.

Yzerman is not that kind of person, if he decides hes coming back its not for the 700 goals, its for a chance at the cup, and if yzerman does come back he will play the full year (health permitting).

You're probably right...he's had an amazing career, but so few have gotten to 700....I'd love to see it for him.

Shanny is talking about hanging up the skates too.

Stevie isn't about the personal glory...but it sure seems neat as a fan (and probably a player) when the player annouces his retirement before the season. As in THIS is going to be my last year. So they kind of do the farewell tour thing.
