hockeysew 0 Report post Posted May 9, 2006 You want a creepy one-There was this kid that I went to Elementary school and Jr High with-I knew him somewhat-but he was always 1/2 a bubble off of plumb-in 8th grade he discovered that girls were cool and tried to chase them around-The girls wanted none of it cause of the 1/2 bubble thing so when they started to dog him out he started to get weird and cut out pictures from Playboy etc and tape them to the girls lockers, bikes etc.I went to a different High School than him and lost track of him until about 4 years after high schoolLo and behold I'm watching the news one day and there is this story about a 5 year old girl that is missing-they search for her about a week and then some guy at a mountain park goes to use the outhouse and hears a child crying-Turns out its the 5 y.o. missing girl that was dumped into the holding tank of the outhouse.A week or so later they announce they make an arrest in the case and guess who? Yup, Mr. Half a bubble off himself! This sick ass had kidnapped the little girl, abused and raped her for a week and then dumped her to die. Freaked the F#$K outta me!It gets weirder-about 4 yrs afterall this I start dating this hottie and somehow or other this incident came up-I say to her that if I ever got the chance to see Mr 1/2 Bubble again I wouldnt be held accountable for my actions as this sicko dont deserve the priviledge of life and at that point in my life it wouldnt have bothered me to gain a felony. I also said that I thought he was a weird F@#K in school.Little hottie freaks out and starts crying and saying hes a victim too and all this bleeding heart crap and he is being rehabilitated etc..........Moral Of The Story-Don't ever date a child molesters cousin!! hockeysew 0 Report post Posted May 10, 2006 Must of hit a sour note with somebody eh?In my Arrogant Opinion?Nope -just honest and open to speak up. Have I stated anything that is untrue?Don't think so I'm not afraid to speak what the rest only think.........Just a little commentary on how upside down society has become and how values have become distorted. We are being Politically Corrected and ACLU'ed to death and we are paying the price
Tricky4L 0 Report post Posted May 10, 2006 I'm not afraid to speak what the rest only think.........Just a little commentary on how upside down society has become and how values have become distorted. Mods can cut this soon cause I totally see this getting off track... but until then!Really?! You speak before you think...wow shocker of the year.Heres a statistic that you need to put into your ol' time american values thought process...1/2 of all "traditional marriages" will end in divorce. So is a child growing up between two parents in two different living arrangements possibly with malace between eachother, or a gay couple with two parents that are showing the kids love and probably making them into better adults. By the by... gay parents do not make gay kids.Kids with gay parents do not become "messed up" from the parents... its the intolerance and hate from their peers. If you wanna keep this going then just ask and I'll hit you with more statistics about your "tradtional american values"
Ti-girl 0 Report post Posted May 10, 2006 I agree with some of the points being said here. When I went to high school, albeit not that long ago, there were quite a few bomb threats after Columbine. All had to be taken seriously. We're glad they were because one student actually had a hit list and knives and guns in his locker.Children are being coddled too much. When I was a lifeguard we couldn't "Fail" a kid. They just got an incomplete because you don't want to crush their self-esteem.I coach and parents don't want kids to be cut from any teams. They all should play on the teams with their friends. One of the teams that I coach is high performance, meaning 3 practices a day, 6 days a week. Yes, cuts have to be made at that level of compeition.I used to play in the park unsupervised with my friends. Now you hardly ever see that. If I screwed up big time, sure I got a smack in the ass. I used to inline skate in our city without worries. Now no kid does that. I grew up fine and adjusted. The athletes that I coach are being brought up, fortunatly, the same way that I was. They're allowed to stay out at the club, allowed to bike out there, allowed to be KIDS!
hockeysew 0 Report post Posted May 10, 2006 Tricky4L-I think you are missing a point I am trying to make-with all respect and no intent to trash anyoneSpeak before I think???Not in the least-I think things through quite thoroughlyI'm just not afraid to speak it when others only think it.Traditional marriages-your stats on divorce rate are quite accurate-thats why after 23 years of marriage my wife and I are rarieties. As most of my friends are divorced/re-married I see first hand the win/lose in those situationsWinner-ParentsLoser's-The KidsThe reason for this high rate?Read the "values have become distorted" a few more times. That explains your statistics so you can just hang on to those.I dont need statistics to tell me that the morals and values have gotten hosed. All I have to do is watch the news or drive down the street or pick up a newspaper! My eyes are open.....................Having friends that are Gay, and discussing the kid issues with them, they do not feel it would be fair to the child to raise them as a Gay "family". We wholeheartedly agree. Having two kids myself WE KNOW how cruel and brutally honest younger kids can be. If you want to calll it hate and intolerance then call it what you want, but the fact remains it is there. If you truley love the child why would you subject them to this??Also along this line when discussing the child issue with our friends that are Gay:It seems that most Gay couples wanting a child is to fulfill their needs "We just arent a family without a child"Kinda selfish in a way don't you think.............I will give you a perfect example-When my kids were 8 and 5 years old we went to Disneyland-had a blast, wonderful time. There was a Gay couple that were kissing and my 5 year old asked "why are those 2 boys kissing Daddy?"Try to answer that as a parent Would you want to conciously subject your child to that?It is quite apparent that this post was taken to be a Gay bash by some-please people.I could care less what 2 adults do in the privacy of their home. That is your private business and whatever spins your crank, spins your crank. That doesnt however mean that I have to agree with what is being shoved down our throats by a few groups that insist that "a lifestyle should accepted and embraced by all" otherwise its not fair and equal.Thats life-its not fair and its not equalLife Aint Burger King! We can't have it our way all the time...................MODS- No bashing was meant here-just a statement on society
DeI 18 0 Report post Posted May 10, 2006 I believe RustyBender summed this all up in a similar previous topic perfectly...Just my 2 cents.
hockeysew 0 Report post Posted May 11, 2006 [The reason guns are brought into schools, by Rustybender15-20 years ago things were different. I don't mean socially. No we still had poor kids and rich kids and good kids and bad kids, we even had gangs. No, I mean mentally. Back then, kids were allowed to fail. Nobody talked about self esteem. Kids were allowed to be dumb. The jocks were allowed to flunk math or science, and the nerds were allowed to flunk gym class. Kids were allowed to fail tests! If you failed a test, you studied harder and tried again. If you failed again, then you just weren't very good at that subject.Failure was not just limited to the classroom either. 7 year olds learned the joy of victory and the bitterness of defeat in little leauge baseball, football, and soccer games. In these games kids learned that some of them would be good at everything, most would be good at something, and a few would be good at nothing. Yes it was fun to play, but it was more fun to play and win!Even video games were harsh. There were no cheats. And when cheats came around, we didn't use them!Back then, nobody expect every kid to like every kid. Some would be popular, some would be content to just blend in, and some would be picked on, alot. The targets got picked on for lots of reasons. Sometimes because they dressed different, sometimes because they were smart, sometimes becasue they were poor. Life was harsh for the targets, but they would ultimately survive. Sometimes fights started. Sometimes it ended in a draw, but usually one person got their ass kicked and they learned not to pick a fight with that person again. Sometime a person would challenge a clearly undermatched person to a fight. They would either step up and take their beating or back out an live with knwing they "chickened out." Sometimes you didn't have a choice and you fought becasue you had to.Back in the day, kids knew from a very early age that we are not all equal. They understood that not everyone is a winner. Life taught us how to accept our limitations.Fast forward to the present day. If a kid is failing a class, it is the fault of the school being too old, the teacher not teaching correctly, or the test being written poorly. It was never the fault of a kid just not being very good at math. Oh and if a kid is failing gym because he can't make a basket? Lower the rim, or let the kid take up "cup stacking."We then carried these ideas to the little league. Let's not keep score, that way everyone is a winner!Let's force kids to like each other. We will expel students for bullying and we will expand the definition of bullying to include mean words. Kids are free to express their opinions, as long as it doesn't hurt anyones feelings. We have taught our children that if you can't be a winner, change the rules until you are a winner. Kids are smart and have picked up this idea and ran with it. Why work at being better at something when it is easier to just change the way a game is played. We spent so much effort protect the self esteem of kids, that we have left them incapable of dealing with defeat. You want respect as a tough guy but can't fight worth a damn? Change the rules, bring in a gun! Someone wants to kick your ass and you know that you can't beat them? Change the rules, bring in a gun! Does billy keep knock your textbooks on the floor? Threaten him with a gun! So in answer to your question. The reason kids bring guns to schools is because they don't want to fail and are looking for a precieved easy way to "one-up" the competition. They are looking for a way to cheat around thier limitations. Unfortunately, once someone cheats and plays the gun card, theres not much you can do to compete, other than to cheat back.]The man is a genius-I tip my hat to you Rusty
