hockeyguy2925 0 Report post Posted May 16, 2006 i broke my "rebellion hockey" "graphite gunner" last night at an open hockey. i currently have a bauer X shaft that i usually use, but i decided to try out this ops i got for 30 bucks a couple months ago. i guess its a good thing i didnt pay much for it, it snapped in half. So now i am looking for a shaft, or a ops i guess, for under $50 to use as a back-up. i don't care if its not this years model or anything like that, just look for a good quality back-up shaft. stickler012 0 Report post Posted May 16, 2006 Correct me if i'm wrong, but Jokinen is probably the closest to the Coffey. Also, SalmingUSA is going out of business, so you might get a discount on some of their products, and i've heard nothing but good reviews on their top of the line OPS's. sc37 0 Report post Posted May 16, 2006 There are some cheap CCM OPS on HockeyMonkey...cept youd get ripped on shipping. Think the v80 is only $50. It would suffice as a backup.

stevoc 0 Report post Posted May 17, 2006 Just FYI on the new z-bubbles...I've had one for a little bit now and it has been reliable, but the grip coating seems to peel of very easily.
hockeyguy2925 0 Report post Posted May 18, 2006 all the new grip has been like this, i have a bauer x shaft and the first time i used it this happened all the way till now, it has about half of the coating left on, worn off where my hands go and other places where it got hit, etc. does not bother me. i had a z-bubble and loved it, but snapped it after 2 years of use. i'm ordering one for sure. Hoquyguy 0 Report post Posted May 18, 2006 I have 2 Salming shafts if anyone is interested. Both 80 Flex. Both new. I bought a bunch of stuff from Salming USA a year ago (skates, blades and shafts), but never got around to using the shafts. I already have WAY more stuff than I'll ever use. $50 apiece, plus shipping ($10 for one or both).
