Housley scored 1200 points as a defensemen, fourth highest scoring defenseman EVER. Bure was great and electric and all that, but with a career hampered by injury I personally would find it very hard to put him in the HOF ahead of Housley.

The HHOF is always focused on North America. Bure was an amazing player and deserves to be there. He is a given to get in at some point. His career and skills definately warrant it. By generalizing with a Russian I was thinking of more of a political move than anything. There have been so many great Russian players that we rarely got to see because of it being a Soviet state. I also look at that agreement that wasn't signed and think they put in Bure first time around to try and ease that situation. The NHL has always taken for granted that every player wants to play here and they want to take advantage of that. Do I agree with the Malkin situation, NO, but I can sympathize with the Russians at the same time. They want a little respect.

I don't think Mike Vernon and Tom Barrasso are worthy HOF candidates. They were both very good goalies but not on par with other goalies in the HOF. As for Graves, he was also a very good player but not on a HOF level. As for Muller and Danyeko, if they get in, I belong on the next ballot!

I love Graves but it is hard to justify electing him. You would have an easier time justifying Richter.

As for the European issue, there are 4 Russians in the HHOF. That seems absurdly low given the fact that they dominated international competition for several decades.
