CCM Tacks 892 vs. 692

I am trying to decide whether to buy the 892 or the 692 Skates. What would be the advantage of the 892's?

Go to ccmsports.com or any site that carries both models and read the item descriptions for each. You should be able to spot differences. Lower end models also tend to be less stiff.

The 892's are have a stiffer boot and in my opinion will give you better performance and durability. I think the 892's are one of the best mid level skates on the market. They are one of the first skates I reccomend to my customers who don't have a lot to spend but want a quality skate. It depends how much you skate. If you only skate once a week the 692's would be fine and last a long time. It just depends on what is more important to you, saving money or getting a better skate. Hope this helps.

what level are you, what size, how much do you play, what are you in now, do you like a stiff skate????

The Tacks 800 series has a composite outsole, making it much lighter than the 600 series.

If they fit, both skates will serve you well.

I used 652's for many years. They may not be CCM's best skaye but they are pretty bullet proof, never had any problems with them.

I've used 652's all through high school, but I was just thinking about upgrading before I head off to play in college.

852's a little lighter, has drainage holes, stiffer, and better microtex trims.
