new shoulder pad suggestion

Recommended Posts

I currently use Reebok/Jofa 5K shouders. They are good pads, but just a bit bulky around the shouder caps. I have been looking for something a little more protective, but the Jofa line gets way bulky as you move up. Anybody have any suggestions for something more protective than the 5K's, but a narrower profile pad in the shoulders?

The new CCM vector pads look very low profile, very mobile, very nice. Try those on, i woudl go for the 6.0, the 8.0, or the 10.0

I agree, we just got some new ones at our store. They seem very light.

I just got the vector 6.0 LE and I love the spine protection. If you get the 6.0 upgrade to the LE if you can.

Try Itech.

Totally agree. Best shoulders out imo. Also most popular among travel players around here.

I just picked up a pair of Itech Techlite pros and I'm very impressed with them-quite sleek but still offer great protection- My old pads were CCM SP 500 which were like football pads and the difference is night and day

I was in the same situation you are. After trying on many different brands and models, I found the Bauer X-Lites, and have been wearing them for about 6 months and have had no problems with them at all. There light, and mobile, but still offer good protection. I suggest giving them a look.

Although Jofa/Reebok shoulder pads offer great protection the bulkyness complaint still lingers amoung many players. I concurr with my fellow posters on this thread. Try going to Bauer, Itech or the new Vector shoulder pads. The new Easton S9 or S5 might also be a consideration depending on your finanacial resources.

The 660s are a great combo of comfort, price and protection. The 990s are tanks.
