My opinion is if edmonton wins the cup it's either Pisani or Pronger that wins, if Carolina wins Ward or Brind'amour get M.V.P.

Now that Roloson is out Pronger is a lock for the Conn Smythe if Edmonton wins. Pisani has been great but Pronger is the big name and he's been the best player in the world for the last 2 months.

If Carolina wins it will one of Staal, Brind'Amour, and Ward. Stillman is a long shot.

Smythe or Brind'Amour are the guys I think who will end up with it. I think Brind'Amour and Pronger are the most deserving though.

Carolina - Brind'Amour or Ward (Ward, more of how he played to GET to the Final...not necessarily his play in the Final)

Edmonton - Pisani or Pronger. I think Pronger was close to a lock when Roli went out, but Fernado has played so well in the Final...that he has to be considered the favorite right now. As far as PRonger being the "big name"...Big Names are made in the playoffs, I think it would be great if it goes to someon like Pisani, the local hero, who isn't really well known, who has risen to the occassion.

Smyth (or even Smith) have both played very well...but don't have the overall numbers to support being the MVP. Staal has been streaky. Stillman is also a possibility.

I think Smyth is the front-runner because of his historical backround with Edmonton. The only issue I see with Ward was his stumble in the Buffalo series where he let Gerber have a shot at the starting job again.

It would be nice to see a heart and soul guy (who isn't always the leadeing scorer) get it. Personally, I like Pisani's chances. But, as long as it's an Oiler, the Conn Smythe can go to any of them...

Ryan should chang ethe pronounciation of his last name...like Joe Theisman did *L*

Conn Smythe is for the best player of the playoffs. I love Pies and everything, but he's only been the MVP of the last 2 games, and MAYBE of the series.

Taking the whole playoffs as a whole, Roli or Pronger are going to get it.

Saying Pies could get it is like saying Juicy should get it for playing great 3-4 games.

*I'm assuming Edmonton wins in all this.

Honestly, I think Roloson should get it. Even though he only played the first game, he was one of the keys (if not) the key to getting the Oilers where they are. On a side note, what the hell happened to Brad Winchester?

Winchester should not come up at all in a thread about the Conn Smythe. He's a lot better skater than he ever was in college, but he's mostly filler and a fighter. They've just tried different scratches in his place and I like the way Harvey's worked lately.

Personally I don't see how you guys could suggest anyone other then Chris Pronger. He plays 30+ every night, is the Oilers leading scorer, has outscored every top ranked forward hes been matched up against and is the verbal leader of the Oilers

If Oilers win, Pronger is a heavy favorite for MVP. He has been a major minute muncher in every series but I think his PP QBing in the Finals leaves a lot to be desired. Oilers were El Stinko on PP until Game 6 thanks to Canes high pressure penalty kill style. No MVP play at the point from 44. Therefore, you know I vote for Pisani. The guy brings it every shift, every night. I've been watching him since October and his confidence has grown with his ice time. Add the clutch goals to his sound defensive game and he has kept this team in it at both ends of the ice.

If Canes win, the MVP will be whoever comes through in Game 7. Brind'Amour is odds on for Carolina but has been nowhere to be found the last two games. Ditto for the rest of the Canes forwards. I liked Cam Ward's play until he found himself looking at the Edmonton onslaught in Game 6. If your team can't shoot to score, there are only so many saves in your game. Tough luck for the kid right now but he can still come up a hero if his team wins.

As bad as Canes are playing, losing 3 of the last 4 games, home ice should be an advantage for them if we go to the Department of Stupid Statistics. Lets just hope for a classic Game 7. It doesn't always turn out that way!!
