Need Help: Huntington Beach extended stay

Hi Guys,

As an industrial design student I will be doing an internship @ Revision Hockey in Huntington Beach from Oct. 4 until Dec. 30 this year. Coming from the Netherlands I really have a hard time finding a place to stay. First the Huntington Beach Hostel looked like a good idea, but they are closing business. I had dix0r (MSHer) helping me, but he is in Europe now . All the hotels and motels are rather expensive (since it is a tourist location). I won't be able to travel by car...

Any tips on local roller hockey / rinks / pickup / tournaments are also very welcome!

Try calling each local hotel/motel directly and ask for the general manager. Explain your situation and they'll probably be willing to give you an extended stay discount. In my experience this is the best way of getting cheap hotel rates (even better than expedia, travelocity, etc.).

where is revision? like what streets? i have a magazine that shows hotels and prices in huntington beach. i live here so i can tell you if they're nice or not. since you can't drive, you will have to stay somewhere pretty close then right? the bus is around a dollar so you could probably do that. but how will you get to the rinks?

are you looking for roller or ice rinks? mostly pickup around here if you're not in a league. i don't think there are any tournaments coming up. but there are A LOT of rinks here. you can message me if you want. i can give you some more info.

I'd just tell the company you're interning for your problem. They should at least be able to point you in the right direction. If they're no help, look for like Extended Stay hotels or something. They're hotels which I think have like little kitchens in them, and give good discounts for longer stays.

hey...there's an Extended Stay America near HB..not far from Coast 2 Coast Inline Hockey...

also..you should try craigslist

losangeles.craigslist.com and look for apts/rooms/etc

also gazettes.com has a good classified in it as well...

I'm sure Nabeel and those guys will take care of you and point you in the right direction on where to play...
