Most improved team

Recommended Posts

Who in your minds will be the most improved team this upcomming season? Take into consideration....

1.New Coaches

2.New Management

3.New Players

and other subjects as well...

My pick would be Boston. They added Chara on the blue line, Savard to put some fire power in their offense, they also signed Chris Collins, Hobey Baker finalist to a contract. They got a new General Manager,Coach,Asst. Coach and bourque as defense coach. But do they have enough to compete? And how well will they do?

Anybody feel the same way about Boston?

P.S Im not a Boston fan, Sharks fan all the way haha

I can see Vancouver having a good year, possibly Pittsburg as well is Malkin comes over and MAF has a good year. I can see Boston improving, but I still think they'll be in tough to make the playoffs.

I'd like to say Vancouver, but with Carter still unsigned and us missing a top line winger.. I am still a little skeptical, defense and goalie-wise we're fine. Other then that I would probably say Minnesota, maybe Phoenix

I don't think Vancouver got much better. Yes they got Luongo, but at a price. Bertuzzi is still a great power forward. They more than likely have lost Carter. And replacing Jovo with Mitchell doesn't even come close. They got better at goalie, no doubt. But every other aspect of their team got significantly worse.

Minnesota for sure they bulked up big time

Vancouver got a good improvement

other than that it's a mixed bag, I'd say Toronto but who knows what happens, Boston for Chara and Raask, Pittsburgh with Malkin and drafting Staal for the future

St. Louis?

Weight, Guerin, McKee - didn't really lose anybody.

Basically they went from shit, to semi-medeokre. Good luck.

thread is for most improved, not necessarily for whose gonna be a good team. can't get much worse than st louis was last year, and I doubt JD is done making moves.

Vancouver improved quite a bit. Though they lost Jovocop, they got Luongo, Mitchell and Pyatt, which are good additions to the team. PLus the new coach is gonna do a great job I think.

Boston also got better. Chara and Savard are gonna make this team a force to be reckoned with. New coaching is good too.

If Malkin makes it into steel town, the pens are ghonna be one of the most improved team next year. They'll finally have someone else who's gonna put in some points, Crosby was all alone last year. And MAF is starting to show the talent he has. In my mind, he's the next Luongo. They've got a lot of promising players, I think they could make it into the playoffs next year.

And of course, the Ducks. Who wouldn't be better by adding Chris Pronger. I wonder who's the number 1 d-man in Anaheim, Niedermeyer or Pronger? Tough to say.

The Pens definitely still have a lot of work left to do but they have the foundation for a very quality team. Now the GM just needs to start building the team around their young franchise guys.

the most improved record wise will definitely be St.Louis. Thats not saying they'll be a contender, but they will make a great 180 after this years debacle on ice.

Most improved roster is probably Minnesota, with Boston a close second. Minnesota will have an easier time getting to the playoffs then boston though.

Most improved GM/Coaching staff has got to go to the islanders. Neil Smith is a vast improvement over Milbury, though a trained monkey might have been as well. More then that, they got an absolutely fantastic coach in Nolan.

Best single move of the offseason is the ducks getting pronger, but how much can you 'improve' when you get to the conference finals

C-Bus will improve quite a bit. Having Nash healthy all season is going to be huge, look what he did last season not even playing half the season, and not to mention the year before the lockout. Zherdev is ready to rock also, he was really coming on strong before the injury he suffered that ended the season for him. They got Modin, he puts up points, plain and simple. The only iffy things there are defense and goaltending, but they are obviously putting stock in LeClaire if they could afford to drop Denis.

Also, I think the Wild are going to be pretty hard to handle this year too. They went out and got Gaborik some help and then some, I think they are going to tear up.

And maybe 3rd best improved team....Atlanta, maybe they will make the playoffs this year, Lehtonen will actually not be injured...who knows...if things click for them and all theyve added this off season they could make a big charge.

They hired Dave Lewis- I'd hardly call that an upgrade...

I agree with Mack,

Add Pronger on the blueline with Niedermayer - that is a hell of a defense... especially on the PP

Ya thats exactly how I feel. Signed an incredibly overrated d-man, a centre who was playing with two of the best goal scorers in the league and a bunch of grinders, who aren't anything special.

They did sign Wade Brookbank today though
