Feet are hurting

Recommended Posts

I was having a problem with my skates (vapor XIX) my right foot was killing me every time i put them on when i described the pain to a friend he recomended skating without my socks on because it might be my feet sliding around to much I tried that tonight worked great. At first I noticed a big difference my foot felt great but after a while i started sweating a lot and my foot was sliding again and the pain came back. I am getting some new skates soon because these are getting a little too small so i was wondering when i get my new skates if anyone would recomend any kind of insole or skating sock or something to wear that will keep my feet in place and prevent any kind of sliding any suggestions would be apreciated and thanks in advance for any help i get.

If your feet are sliding wouldnt that mean that your skates are too big? Idk just a thought.

Well thats kinda something i though but they have been doing in since i bought the skates and they do it still now that they are too small and my toes are getting to crowded inside they arent moving a whole lot but enough to make my feet hurt the pain is kinda in the middle in the arch of my foot but towards the outside.

try synergy skates,or shockdoctor insoles. I have the same problem in some skates. The synergys made all my arch problems go away.

Well besides this problem I have nothing else to complain about with these skates and I was really considering just staying with the vapor line and going for the xxx's If this is a problem that I can fix I would rather stick with something that I know I am going to like but I will look into the shockdocter insoles you mentioned.

I know what really helped me (and a lot of others) is to simply lace your skates looser over the affected area. If you are suffering from arch pain, then tie your laces looser over the arch.

If that doesn't solve your problem, then I would try superfeet insoles. They should really help lock in your foot and provide more support to the arch.

Let me know how this works.

A lot of people have skates that are too big. They feel more comfortable, but simply do not work.

A lot of people have the wrong width foot for the skate they are in, or wrong footpad design, and the skate is crushing your foot. Some sort of footpad insert, maybe one that self molds with memory foam to the bottom of your foot, is worth a try.

I'm shelling out $170 for 100% Custom insoles at a foot-clinic specialist, who makes insoles for Ivan Basso (cyclist) and alot of Pro Soccer & Icehockey players.

My feet fit nicely in CCM vectors, but the arch is too low, so custom insoles should do the trick.

Just wondering if $170 is a decent price for completely custom footbeds?

Sounds to me like maybe his skate is too wide in the heel area, which causes extramovement (my Rbks gave me bonespurs because of this), just a guess though.

I would agree that only the skate too wide so that you feet slide in your skate, so make sure you get proper fitting before your next skate purchase!

I bought my skate too big and the skate pocket too deep, now I have to use sock doctor and the orginal footbed in my skate, thick socks, tie it up really tight to make my skate work, though the length of my skate should be right!

I dont know if one foot is a little smaller than the other or what because it only does it on one foot and it has done it since day one and now that the skate is a little to small and my toes are starting to crowd up it still does it the width on it is D too so i cant go any smaller.

you may want to try something like a footbed from Sole www.yoursole.com they run about $45 and are moldable (just like skates , 2min @ 200 then pop them in your shoes..but make sure you trim them first!)

they make 3 distinct models, the slim would likely work best for a pair of skates...they have been a nice enhancement for me and I use them with my regular shoes .also helps keep the back/hips in alignment..

I just checked out the site it said they have a slim sport model that works very well for ice skates. I think I will try the shock doctor ones first because those I can get at my lhs and they cost less if those do not work I will deffinately look into these.
