Sprung Hockey

Keith, how much would the sprung chassises be if devlivered to the UK?

As a few of my friends are looking into buying them.

Though the shipping to the UK is about $25 by USPS Priority Mail, we're still at $15. We haven't changed the international shipping price yet cause it's about to go up again, so now's the time to save on shipping.

Jason P., your stuff is on the way. Yours too, J-S.

With all the Graf talk, I thought a nice picture of some on a cloud would be sweet. These are Matt Iceburg's. Another happy believer in Sprung Family Values. Group discounts. :)

Hats off to Keith yet again. I shattered the back rocker arm on my skates. 240lbs full speed into the wall and well, you do the math. I'm big and i skate hard. Not the first chassis i've ever broken. I'm pretty certain i'd be having problems with any of my old aluminum chassis, which is what got me to switch to Sprungs in the first place. And even if sprungs weren't stronger than alloy chassis, they are a lot more easily and affordably fixable (free if within warranty). Within a few days i had a new pair + spring + axles + rocker arm pin. Unfortunately i forgot to specify i had the a8, not a6. Within the next business day i had the proper arm, and extra pieces. Keith is an awesome guy with great customer service. If everyone in this country had a business (and personal for that matter) attitude like Keith I'm pretty sure we'd be in a heck of a lot better situation with just about everything. Thanks again Keith. You've definitely got me hooked.

Oh and on a review note of the a8's. I did have to skate once in my backups (old VSi's w/ generator chassis) Switching to the sprungs was a piece of cake. Switching back was not so great. I was washing out in the corners, couldn't plant my feet as firm. I just plain felt goofy. Switching back to the old skates really made me realize how awesome Sprungs are. So much more speed, grip, and maneuverability over 72/80s. The only problem i had when i switched to sprungs, and then back again to the sprungs was bumping my front and back wheels on crossovers. But i'd only do it a few times and then get used to the extra length.

I tried my sprungs for the first time today... All I can say is wow!

I never believed all the hype on here and honestly would probably have never used them had someone no given me a pair, but I'm really glad I did!

I've never felt something as smooth or comfortable. I've also always used hi-lo or tri-di chassis and was concerned the flat setup would make me feel awkward (as hummers and sure grips have in the past). I was also worried that my weight (215lb) would be too much but the suspension seems to be working great.

Keith, I'm a true believer! :D

Sweet skates Sotho! (just get some new wheels! :P )

I'm currently workng on finding a new boot so I can get a pair of Sprung frames mounted on 'em, just to try them out.

It's ashame I didn't read this thread 3 weeks ago, when my HE7500s snapped a chassis, and I had to toss my old ViBe chassis on them.

:(

I'd consider putting a sprung on them, but I'm worried that doing ANOTHER chassis swap may ruin the skates?

Those wheels are brand new, just skated on the once. :(

It's the painted and dusty surface we play on that makes the wheels have an antic look. ;)

Hi guys,

just mounted my new sprungs on my 9K.

I want dye them black but here in germany RIT Dye is not available, so i've used a german textile dye (color also black) - but is dark blue in end of the process  - now I'am waiting for dry weather conditions to test these sprungs.

Hi Keith,

I was wondering if a Kor Shift 1 inline conversion with your frame is possible or not. Heard that the boot could not fit with an inline frame.

Thanks

I'll know more about that next week. As I recall from a year ago, they fit just right.

Hey Keith,

I was interested in getting a pair of the torspo sprungs sent up here to Victoria, BC, Canada. How much would it be?

Thanks

Matt

You can dye them again if you want.

To get a true black, I used two packages of black dye and a package of the darkest brown I could find in the same amount of water you'd use for 1 packet of dye.

Hey guys, here are some pics of sprung conversions from me and my teammates.

I mounted nearly all of them on my own. Great job from Keith the sprung chasis ist much easier to mount than anything else.

Greetings from Germany.

That's the old and the new shoe from Yannick, he's playing for the U19 german national team.

That's a nice one from my coach and teammate Steffen, one of the best german defensive Players.

Going to sound like a bit of a broken record in this thread.....but I personally feel that outstanding customer service should always be recognized.

I e mailed Keith about 2 weeks ago about having a stripped nut in my A8's on my RBK 7K's. I left him my credit card number and requested a couple of nuts and axles. 3 days after the e mail I received 3 sets of axles and nuts and WITHOUT my card being charged. Simply outstanding service by Keith taking care of his customers.

Hopefully my story will sway someone who is "on the fence" about Sprung. Because I can promise you one thing...that same e mail that I sent to Keith going to ANY other manufacturer and I probably would of been SOL.

Nice skates!! I just recently bought a pair of White RBK 9k's from my LHS and am having them mounted with sprungs. Seeing these pictures making me more anxious to skate in them.

I hope to get some new skates as a graduation gift. Pending that, I will put some Sprungs on my old ice boots.

I back read the first 35 pages and the last 15 pages or so and didn't find anything on this, so if it's been answered I apologize:

I don't know jack about roller hockey/skating- are the sprungs ok to use outdoors for just skating around? Or does that have more of an impact on the type of wheels or bearings?

I don't play roller hockey, but like to go out and skate around with my GF or get a ragtag game of street hockey going with a couple friends on campus. Just want to make sure a sprung setup is appropriate for that.

It will be just fine for you. The wheels are more of what will take a beating on an outdoor surface. As long as you get a harder (higher) durometer wheel for asphalt, you will be fine.

Yannick's Torspo 221s with the white frames that are back a post or so are very close to the setup we're using. We are going with Revision wheels, either Gold or Bronze, depending on the skater's preference. The boots are being delivered right now and the frame shipment got here a week ago, so they go on the site today too. $399, all sizes. They come with an extra pair of rocker arms and additional hardware.

And a new discovery. If your frames have gotten loose from use, there is a solution in addition to wrapping paper around the springs, which does the job excellently. Because of the difference in molds, the A8 spring is slightly bigger than the A6 spring, but fits right in fine. It adds a little more pre-load and they are a little stiffer because of their configuration VS the A6 springs.

At least one player on the Sr Team USA is on the Torspo package, for sure. The fact that he's been on every version since the first ones that didn't fold up under you... when they broke every game at least once and the pivot pins curled up like pretzels, doesn't make him a bad person. Here's Speedy before and during a game on his old RBK/8Ks. Congratulations, Speedy!!!! :)
