Keith if i buy a set of sprungs can i send you the whole skate with the holder on the skate. You can remove the holders and send them back to me right?

Yep, the holders come back with the mounted skates.

Last time i played roller was back in 2000 on labeda holders. Been on ice since then, but I am thinking of going out for my university's club roller team. I've been skating on 8090s for ice, and have a old pair I am thinking to convert over rather than trying new skates and brands for roller. They are size 8. I'm 5'11'' 187lbs; would the A8 or A6 fit my scenario better in your opinion?

I just mounted my Bauer 8090's Size 8.5 with the Sprung A8's and it was extremely tight. I'm going to post some pics in a sec and a full review. I would probably wait for the 80mm mediums, not sure when they are coming out.

Here's my review of A8 Sprungs on Bauer 8090's. I'm running Labeda Gripper Milleniums in 80mm with Mission Swiss bearings and floating spacers.

I had some doubts about fitting the A8's on a size 8.5 but I really wanted to run 80mm wheels and the stiffer "springs" were a must in my eyes.

So I had them put on to the dismay of the guy putting the Sprungs on because he thought they were "too long" and they would give me weird balance. Anyways, I used them tonight in a game on sport court and they were simply awesome. I had insane grip and I could stop on a dime. I could really feel the suspension working under my feet utilizing the maximum grip my wheels could give. The bearings and chassis are new so I doubt they were even working properly yet. I look forward to using these more often! Thanks Keith for a sweet product. And to guys with size 8.5 Bauers, they fit! And they feel great I see no reason why you would go for the smaller frames personally. I used the boots for 6 months on ice so they are a little beat up but they are still structurally strong. I got them stiffer than stock :) Here are some pics.

On sprungs is it best to have all softs your think not have some xsofts on the toes or anything for the dig or something.

Looks like a very good mount job, even though it was reluctant. You can use all softs and no Xsoft with no problem. And they're faster, too. I'll get up a pic of some 8.5 Rbk's on a pro bud at NARCH. Gteat post, thanks.

One of the great things about the Sprungs is that you can use a harder wheel for added speed and not lose any grip at all. I tried using a Labeda Genesis Xsoft setup and it was way too grippy. I could stop and turn on a time but there was a noticeable decrease in speed. I'm back to the Hot Shots and they're just as grippy and a lot faster.

I have been using Hyper H-150 wheels which are 83A on my Sprungs. I skate mostly on blacktop but my roller league is a super smooth indoor cement floor. I didn't know how the 83A's would work out but I have experienced no slip at all. Great speed and super grip. I don't really like the look of the wheel and I'm not in love with the full profile or fat profile of the wheel but the grip and speed have been great on the Sprungs.

So the major difference between the A6 and A8, is A8 has 80mm wheels which will lead to more transfer of power and they are stiffer than the A6?

They're stiffer and longer and taller. Sounds like smut ads I get!!!

Here's some lucky-happy guys in OC with their Special 8K's.

Do you think the medium A8 will be released in the next month or so?

It's more like six months away. But maybe sooner.

Here's some 8.5 Rbk's with A8's on a pro at NARCH.

Keith, Those are some sweet pics. Makes me want to try the 80mm chassis all the more. Did I understand correctly that the A8/80mm chassis doesn't sit any higher than the A6 with 76mm wheels?

Thanks

So I just finished my 3rd game on sprungs.

Its amazing how once you start relaxing and letting the frame take you into the turn it becomes so much more effective. I can really feel them hold in tight turns.

The other thing that I noticed tonight is that there is a lot less floor feed back, they just feel so smooth. I have played roller for a long time and this is the first time I feel comfortable trying to make moves.

Any of you out there waffeling on whether or not to give them a try, go for it you wont be sorry. This is a great product.

Thanks Keith, Sprungs are great.

So I've got a pair of he9500's that i'm pretty happy with other than the chassis. The back wheels scrub. They didn't when i first bought them but they do now It might be that I bent something some how weighing 240-250... blah blah. I was cleaning out my old hockey stuff today and I noticed my old pair mission proto vsi's (the ones with the vibe). Wasn't too fond of the vibe but that has been my favorite boot. I could skate barefoot in those jokers no prob. They just fit so well. So...

I was thinking about putting a sprung on those proto vsi's. The boots look like they have life still in em. My dad used them for awhile after i was done with them, but i think i mostly just was younger and got googlie eyed over some new skates. I'm not sure how comfortable i would be mounting them myself, but i'm a pretty big diy'er. If i shipped the skates to sprung could they demount the old chassis and mount the new ones? They're a size 13 so the new a8 should fit it, right?

On a side note, the eyelets are mostly all rusted out. Is there a way of replacing them?

I just got an e mail from Keith at Sprung Inline letting me know that he got my RBK 7K's and my A8's that I shipped to him. He is mounting them currently and I should have them back on my feet in a week. So.....absolutely he can take care of that for you.

Thanks for the comments guys. I'm thinking about putting some outdoor wheels on the vsi's and taking them for a spin to make sure the boots really do fit well still. I pulled one on for a few seconds while i was home, but its been probably 4 years since i actually skated in them. Also i was thinking about dying the chassis, but can you do that after they're mounted? If not would sprung be able to do it before they mount it? I'm guessing i could do the rocker arms myself, but not the frame if its already mounted to the boot.

Spreedizzle: Is the mounting free if you buy the chassis, or is it extra (just send me a pm if that's inappropriate to post)

the frame is dyed before mounting using Rit dye. Keith is great to work with, just shoot him an e-mail off his site

You can dye the frames, but obviously it would be easiest with the frames not yet mounted. Mounted.....best bet is to dye the rocker arms. If you go back a few pages you will see pics of my dyed chassis....might give you a couple of creative ideas.

The mounting for the frames is not free, but Keith is charging me VERY reasonably for the mounting and shipment back to North Carolina.

Simply contact Keith off of www.sprunginline.com
