So to those of you with revisions and sprungs, how do you like them? Any comments on the durometer of them for certain surfaces?

Also what floating spacers work for sure with the sprungs?

I've got a mix of Tour's floating spacers and Sonics and both work just fine.

So, since the TriD has only been out there for three years and it's already getting such a tremendous response, Rbk and CCM have both decided that the safe thing to do is to stick with a proven winner.

that's too bad, but sickly funny. It's all the Tri-Di and has nothing to do with being the newest shiny toy out in the market in the RBK name that happens to have Sidney Crosby as the marketing face. Yep, it's definitely the Tri-Di driving their sales.

Good luck with these companies Keith, maybe Torspo would be a good candidate as mentioned before. Easton and Graf don't seem to want to try and play in the roller market.

Thanks for the help everyone. My he9500s are on their way out west to get a lil upgrade. In the mean time does anyone have any suggestions for wheels. I'm big (235lbs 6'2"). I've been kinda disappointed with the RR Hornets. They seem to slip a bit on our outdoor sport court. I can get 07 revisions for a pretty decent price in 76a. Anyone skating revisions with their sprungs? I was also considering good ole labeda grippers, or maybe dynasties. I might go with the hornets again, but in a softer wheel. I had them in 80a and 78a and they just slipped too much. Thinking maybe straight 78a might be alright. Any thoughts?

On a more fun note I'm trying to figure out what color to dye my chassis and rocker arms. I'm thinking black chassis, and grey arms. Maybe leaving the square around the spring logo white, and making the spring red. I thought it might look good with the boot since the white and red are just used for accents.

I have the Tri-Di, but have never tried anything else other than Rollerblade lightnings. Is the Tri Di really better than the Mission Hi Los that everyone else has, or the Tour all 80's ?

I'm around your size and skate with Sprungs. I find that the Sprung chassis provides better grip than other chassis I've used in the past (Tuuk Rocker and flat chassis). I used to Sprungs with a combo of 80a and 78a hot shots as well as MB816s and never had any grip issues on Sport Court. You may just be able to take the 80a and 78a Hornets you were using before, slap them on the Sprungs and have no issues.

For a look at your prospective dye job....look at my photobucket posts on the previous page. That is exactly what you are talking about.

Keith, I can only imagine how frustrating that situation must be for you. As a Sprung frame owner I have experienced several situations where people are looking at the frames, asking questions about the chassis and even asking to skate around in my skates to experience the chassis for themselves and everyone has made positive comments but to date none of the guys that play in my league have taken the step to purchase the frames. I just don't get it at all. I have even told guys that I would mount them for the cost of the T-nuts and bolts. I think alot of players just want the new shiny stuff they see in the adds.

totally agree with you Rick. Many people have asked about the sprungs that I've been using, and love the way they feel, but none want to try and would rather buy off-the-shelf

A big thing for me is not being able to buy boots without frames

Ice boots. My Vapor XVI's are as good or better than anything I've ever skated on, and they were Very Inexpensive. Last years mid range ice boots. And find the best deal you can online for wheels, bearings and spacers. And you only have to get one size wheels, so it's easy to find matching sets.

if everyone is looking for a decent boot for cheap if you fit in them hockey giant is selling code carbon ice skates for 200 bucs

I know my sprungs will soon be on either those or my code 1 boots

I already did. You inspired me :)

I sent my boots off this morning which means that i have to skate in my dad's skates till mine get back. He has narrower feet. I agree that if it were easier to get the swap done, more people would be skating on sprungs. The other part might be that some people can't justify throwing out a 'perfectly good' chassis.

Learning to mount chassis with T-nuts and bolts have saved me a bunch of money and time. My closest rink/skate shop is a little more than an hour away and the last track I had they were charging around $40 for a mount. I haven't tried it yet but I might try to mount an ice blade using the same method.

So where do you learn to do this, and where do you get the t-nuts/bolts?

I've got a set in a bag that are doing nothing but collecting dust. PM me if you are interested in them.

As far getting the t-nuts and bolts, you can pick them up at any normal hardware store. Just make sure you get the right length bolts for your boot/chassis combo.

For mounting, it really juts involves lining up the chassis on the boot and drilling the mounting holes. Make sure you select a drill bit big enough so that the t-nuts fit snugly.

I did t-nuts on my setup mainly because I didn't really trust my LHS to do a good job, and it was much cheaper and more flexible than rivets

The smallest t-nuts they had at my hardware store were 3/8, which seemed too big to me. Would homedepot or lowes have smaller ones?

*edit* Also do you have to drill out the chassis, or just the boot?

The boots will need to have the holes drilled out. If I remember correctly, I used a 3/16" drill bit to allow the base of the T-nuts to recess into the boot body, and still "bite" properly with the wings on the base.
