Help to identify this curve

Recommended Posts

I want to help my sister to find a gift (stick) for her boyfriend.

I'm really not sure about the pattern he is using. I've been able to take a picture of his current blade (TechEdge Precision stick - pattern not mentioned on the stick):

To me it looks like a TPS Sundin...maybe.. but with different lie angle. His current blade looks like a 6 or 7 lie angle. He also have a Koho Jagr but hates it ( I supposed it is mostly due to the lie angle which are really different to me.

Do you have any suggestion on a pattern that would suit him well?...he loves his current pattern but can't find this stick anywhere

Isn't the clark the same as the P71/ Peca?

I googled an image of the peca curve, and it looks pretty close, and has a Lie of 7 according to the chart: Bauer Patterns

I also checked the NBH catalogue to find that the Peca curve isn't listed. Has it been discontinued? I know the P10 is gone, and I doubt they'd keep it out just to save space in such an already lengthy catalogue...

I've seen differences blade to blade in the same pattern, but only when it was a wood blade (I had 5 brand new Easton Pro RB Modano's [EDIT: at the same time, laid out next to one another], and each was unique). I've also seen differences from wood to composite blades in the same pattern. I don't believe there was ever a clark composite blade, so it only makes sense that there'd be a slight difference.

That is DEFINITELY a TPS Morrow.

i thnk its a datsuyk for sure....

Once again, no. I have one, it's far closer to a Sakic that is less open. The only similarity that I see is that it has a square toe.

Hold on, I'll take a pic of my blade and reverse it in PS.

Didn't feel my questions deserves an entire topic: If that guy was to change from his big-mid curve to a heel curve ala Rbk Pronger or CCM Lecavalier, how big an adjustment period whould it take, since they are in the other end of the spectrum curve wise?

On the notion he's never used heel-curves before?

honestly.......id go with RBK AMONTE not Datsyuk, or Easton Yzerman if you can find one and if your saying he likes a high lie.

Ugh, That is a Sundin PRO.....which is an open heel curve aka more or less easton drury RETAIL. RETAIL TPS SUNDIN is a huge mid which resembles the curve we are trying to relate back to. THE CURVE HE IS LOOKING FOR IS A BIG MID.

Retail sundin is a large mid, round toe, flat rocker and 5 lie.

Amonte is a large mid-toe hook. Yzerman is a huger mid hook, with a partially rounded toe. And more open at the toe.

He hates the Jagr curve because of the lie. To me, this curve is really close to the jagr, except for the lie. Jagr with a 7 lie angle would be great, but doesn't seem to exist. Anyone?

Thanks everyone by the way

It looks really similar to a thorthon to me. I would suggest looking into a bauer lindros, decently sized with about a 6 lie from the looks it would fit him nicely.
