I'd say about half the chicks under-25 I see have a tramp stamp on the back. It just doesn't work for me, but I'm not the target audience so it doesn't really matter.

The only thing worse than having a wife with one like I do, is having a sister with something along the hip line that I pray I never see or find out what it is. Then again she has about 4 tats total so it's not a trend thing.

Why a clover?

What drives me nuts is the people who get tats just for fun. They dont care what they get, they just want a tattoo. Get something that has some meaning to it. Get one that has some kind of value to you other than "my friends all have XXXX on their XXXX so I am going to get one too". If all your friends got a tattoo of a dick on their foreheads, would you do the same? You could cover it up with a hat so only the people who you liked could see it.. it still wouldn't cover up the fact that you have a giant shlong on your face.

really why does it matter, i dont understand how what someone else puts on there body can drive you nuts, yea i can see you saying man that's ugly or something like that but i don't see why it should bother you, it's there body and it's there money and they can do whatever they want with it.

I'm guessing he means that he doesn't like the fact that they went out of their way to get a tattoo just because people they know went and got a tattoo. You know, that primal "monkey-see monkey do" mentality we all seem to have.

As for me, I'll never get one. Heard too many horror stories about infections and stuff like that.

i guess this wasnt directed twards me, becuase i never said i was doing it becuase my friends did...none of my freinds even have tats on their toes!

ill be 18 in november, so its my decision, wtf does it matter to you what anyone has tatoo'd on their bodies? its a clover, the size of a dime, is it that big of a deal?

Sometimes your posts piss me off.

I have one tattoo that means something to me, and one that means nothing to me that I got simply for the artistic elements of it. And its huge, it takes up alot of my side on my ribs. The guy that did it was learning a new technique and had an idea that he wanted to try on someone, so I told him he could do it on me. And guess what, in my opinion, it looks great. It generates conversation (usually people going, 'damn that had to hurt all over your ribs like that' and I don't regret it at all.

You sound like the typical anti-tattoo person in the world today that is not realizing that tattoos are becoming more and more accepted in societies all over the world. Even piercings to an extent are becoming more tolerated. 10 years ago how many waitresses would you see with a nosering or more than just their ear lobes pierced. I work at a moderately nice resteraunt and can think of several of the girls that have small noserings and their cartiledge pierced etc.

Does someone piercing their ears mean anything to them. Hell no, they do it purely for the look of it, but to me it sounds like you would shit your pants if your girlfriend pierced her ears at all.

Its the same difference, its all for looks, individuality, and to be able to have a piece of art on your body for your life that you can always look at and talk about, etc.

Facts are its their body and their money, their decision. Maybe they'll get something just for fun, and regret it later, but thats on them not you. I think you should just try and wrap your head around looking at it from an artistic standpoint and appreciate a good tattoo as good art (if it looks good) because its just as acceptable a form of art as a painting or sculpture. Oh, and if you want a giant shlong on your face I know a guy who'll tattoo it on for cheap, a big huge black one.

I think you can do whatever you want to your body. You just have to accept the concequences of other people judging you. Going back my my "dickhead" tattoo example, your right.. I COULD get a big dick inked on my head.. Its my right, its my body, its my money, its my life. But that doesn't take away the fact that I have to accept that others will see this depiction on my forehead and WILL label/create an opinion of me from it.

Prime example: I have an old team mate that I played with in highschool. He got an all black dragon on his left hip. It was a BIG tattoo and in my opinion, looked like shit. I remember when we were in the locker room getting ready for the season he pulls off his shirt and has everybody take a look at it. I honestly couldn't tell what it was and neither could most of the people on our team. I wasn't going to lie and I told him that I didn't like it. He responded with a firm "fuck you, you dont know what art is" and hardly said a word to me since.

All of the tattoos posted look great imo (even loxish's.. even though I dont know what the hell its supposed to mean.. its still kinda cool). I am NOT anti tattoo.

I am sure your tattoo is great. I think you had a good reason to get one. Wanting a tattoo on your body as an art piece or doing it because YOU want one is a fine idea. Just make sure that you want it... dont do it because your friends want you to or your parents don't want you to.

I used to skateboard a lot when I was in highschool and really liked the company World Industries. I used to collect their skate banners and tried to get a new deck from them every year. I wanted to get 2 tattoos, one of flameboy and one of wet willy... One on each shoulder. I think it would have been cool even to this date, but I don't know if I would want it in say 20 more years when I am doing the deskjob thing.
