Basically New mission L7 gloves crumbled

Recommended Posts

I was curious if anyone else has seen this???I have a basically new pair of Mission L7 gloves and the bottom hand looks brand new yet my top hand looks like it went through a war, all the finger gussets are ripped and my fingers are exposed and the palm is gone, all this after only a few months? love the gloves but the durability is questionable.

Are they pro stock by any chance? I know that the pro models have thinner palms with no reenforcement as it gives a better feel, but it also makes for a less durable palm.

I have had gloves wear unevenly but I have never heard of a case like yours. I would agree with blues 91, it sounds like a defect. I would try to return them.

What do you have on the top of your stick? I use to use regular hockey tape but found that chewed up my gloves more than the special grip material specifically designed for stick tops.

what is the best tape to use on the grip of your stick then? I have used many different types of so called grip tape..

Plain old white hockey tape.

Combining the grip of the glove and additional grip from special tape isn't good. Using a grip stick is even a bad idea if you have a palm that grips well. I had one customer that ripped a couple gussets in her L7s and mission replaced the gloves under warranty. Of course, she brought them in as soon as there were any signs of ripping and didn't wait for them to get trashed.

None if you can. I recently started just putting a butt end on with tape but no grip it was kinda weird at first but once I got used to it I couldnt really tell the difference.

I use powerflex tape

Theres your explanation.

how? i've been using powerflex forever and i'm still on my 1st pair of XXX palms

The palms on the XXX don't grip as well as the L7 palms. The extra friction helps rip up the glove.
