With all the hype I had to throw some $$ on smarty. Stupid horse, thought he had it by a long shot till the very end, If the track was only like 5 seconds shorter. Oh well I should quit betting... wait I will quit after the finals ;)

The odds were 1-5. So, you'd have to sacrifice $500 just to win $100. Sorry, but I don't see why everyone was betting.

And you can't really say that Philly choked again. I thought I heard that in the past 8 years, 6 horses have won the Derby and the Preakness, only to lose the Belmont. It's a long race and takes a special horse to win all 3. That goes to show you how good Secretariat was. He won the Belmont by 31 lengths.

Yes - the Triple Crown of horse racing is the Kentucky Derby, the Preakness in Baltimore and the Belmont Stakes in Elmont, Long Island, NY. The Preakness is the short race and the Belmont is the long one.

And where I live my town is called Grand Falls and the bridge going over the falls is called the Ron Turcotte Bridge. Well, I live in New Denmark, which is just outside of Grand Falls and thats where ROn Turcotte lives.....Population; 550!
