Rbk 8k Helmet Vents

Recommended Posts

I was wondering if anyone knew how to open the side vents on the Rbk 8k helmet, almost every player in the NHL with a Rbk helmet has the vents open. How is this done?

On the 8k you just push up on the ear flaps and they should come out of the slots. If you play under USAH rules you are not permitted to remove them or it is a penalty and you must replace them before you can continue to play.

I've had my flaps out on both my HS and club teams for the past two years without incident. Most refs don't notice it, and the majority of them have their flaps off too. Does their equipment have to conform to the same guidelines?

atleast acoording to the hockey canada the refs must have the vents on, but like another member mentioned there's a ton of refs and players who don't have them.

I've had mine off since day one. I got it as a Pro return. I think it's funny how these cant be off but a guy can wear an open face helmet in the USAH. I think a hit in the face would be far worse than in the ear.

You need a cage and ear pieces in USAH sanctioned(SP?) play.

Thanks for the suggestions

but the earpiece becomes very hard to push up and open them, should i stop?

Does the helmet have to be as long as it can go to have them open?

Does this include adult play?

I think it depends a lot on the level if they are going to call it, Playing Highschool they would call it, but playing juniors i've never run into a problem.
