Ash96: How did that tournament in Bienne go?

The Danish men's team at the European Championship is gonna be horrible, possibly the worst fielded in a long time, we're already laughing around here :lol:

A shame though, since Polen and Austria will play this year aswell so the tournament should be decent. (i.e. number of teams fielded)

Heard a rumour the Czechs might play next year.

yeah thats awesome, I think Denmark was pretty much the only team the men beat last year!

That would be quality if czech played! This ball hockey stuff is starting to get bigger!

I didnt make the seelanders tournament in the end, but the U21 squad came 2nd in it!

I wish some american guys played this sport! none of them seem to be doing it!

We play IISHF ball hockey in The Netherlands and IIHF puck hockey in Belgium. My team is called the Rhinos and is located in Eindhoven. I'm second in the top row. We got three senior national team players and four juniors.

My team mate (who by the way should also be on these forums -> Matt) plays for Dusseldorf Rams and they equaled them 1:1 in the Rams Cup this year. What team do you play for?

Play inline in sweden, but have played some ball hockey (pick-up) with them.

They won the European Championship again this year, but they claim alot of the other teams were alot better than them.

oh got ya,alot of inline hockey where i play is played witha puck,dek hockey(no skates)they use a ball,each rink has its own playing rules as far as period time and 5on5 or 4on4 .

You guys played against the Duisburg Ducks? They have some amazing players. They are the line 1 of the Germany mens team.

I think they have a guy who has played in the NHL before. Schmidt? sp? I am not too sure of his name, he was awesome though.

some did.. they mainly played in the old 1st bundesliga.. most of the players involved in skaterhockey play regionalliga ( 4th level of germany ) some are playing in the oberlige ( 3rd league in germany ) there is one nhler which is called christian ehrhoff.. he has played some games with krefeld skating bears.. Adrian Grygel is a regular player in the DEL.. the also played for krefeld.. Furthermore I know Denis Seidenberg ( I thought he also played in the US.. wheter it was AHL or NHL ) who has had some training with the team from Kaarst. Funny detail on this guy Ehrhoff is that normally they don't ask any entrance money, but if he plays they start to ask for entrance money.. Furthermore there are some ex WJC players who thought drinking and partying was more important than playing hockey.

A lot of hockeyplayers in the ISHD leagues are players who just could not make the jump from the juniors to the professional icehockey teams.. However, every year there are a lot of hockeyplayers who do not have any icehockey experience which crack the line up of a bundesliga skaterhockeyteam. The juniorleagues are pretty well organised as well ( one junior bundesliga constist out of 10 teams I thought ), after that they have 2 lower junior leagues.

There is some money involved in skaterhockey. However mostly it is some money for equipment, and transportation to away games by bus, or some free sticks.

I have played the Vesterbro team a couple of times.. They have some pretty skilled guys on their team. In this years Rams Cup ( If you ask me it is the best tournament troughout europe ) we played 1-1 against them, in the prelimanary round. They went on to win the tournament. We ended up to the 5th place I thought. We played Duisburg Ducks last year on the Rams cup also in the prelimanary round and there we lost 4-2 last goal was an empty net goal.. Last years playoffs we reached the quarter finals and met Duisburg there. We lost the first game, won the second one 7-3 when they just became the European Champion.. the last game we lost 8-5. It's true that they have a skilled team.. But you've got to keep in mind that these guys are getting older every year..

My predictions are for this year that Bissendorf Panthers will win the german championships....... That is.. only if Düsseldorf does not make the final :)

Yeah Our Junior european cup was Kaarst last year, this years is in lugano, switzerland.

Ive always wanted to play in the Rams cup. IF any guys fancy comin over for a game in England give me a shout! :D

I know they beated Duisburg Ducks in the final 5-4 in 2004, and are the only team besides them who have won the european cup multiple times.

But they only have like 8 players, I don't know if they have more at games, but they seem like a small team number wise.

Ha ha no seriously. The damn swiss and german guys are good! so itll be a tough tournament, im looking forward to playing again! Hopefully we will do better than 3rd like last year.

Nope, not always. We do play on Sportcourt covered rinks, but Over here in England there isnt always a rink available. Being as we play in sports halls its available for everyone.

I'll try to get up a video of us playing at some point.
