Recommend some elbow pads

Recommended Posts

Looking for a pair of elbow pads that are comfortable/non restrictive but will stay in place without me having to fuss with them all the time.

RBK, can't go wrong with that. I recommend you also give a look at the Easton elbow pads. Personnally, I have mostly all easton protectives, but my elbow pads are RBK (they were the only ones not mobing around).

I would say Rbk too, but since I took those off your hands...Easton is always a good bet, hear good things about the Vectors and Fuel series.

I've got Jofa 9177's, which I believe are now RBK 8K's. I wouldn't recommend them unless you're playing high level checking hockey. The forearm protection is a little too long. I think 7K's would be better, at least for me. My Jofa's don't move around on me at all.

I prefer the 2 piece elbow pads as opposed to 3 piece, but that's just my pref. I had some Bauer Vapor 3 piece pads that really sucked. It may have been that they weren't high level pads but I fell once right on the tip of my elbow and really got hurt. That's when I replaced them.

I like the new Vector elbow pads, and if you can find the 6K they have the great lace up system which holds position really nicely. The floating elbow pad is a little gimmicky, but I really liked everything else about the pad.

I went with the Vector 4s because of price, but they don't have the lacing system.

I have RBK's and couldn't be happier. They don't restrict my movement and don't slip all over my arm like my old Easton's

I'll back you up. I had Easton synergy's and my elbows were always sore because whenever i'd get hit or hit the boards or ice my elbow pads slipped down. I picked up a pair of Rbk 8k's and couldn't be happier. They never move around, they still give me lots of movement aswell.

I just bought RBK 5k's. I was thinking about going higher end, but selection was limited and I'm happy to say these are doing the trick nicely. I almost bought the Nike V-14 elbow's but the forarm part was too big and the cuff of my glove was rubbing against it.

Note: When buying elbow pads be sure to bring your shoulders and gloves with you. It worked out well for me (by accident) as I was getting my gear cleaned (SaniSport)so it was all there.

Good luck.

just about every NHL player wears JOFA elbow and shin pads... enough said close this...

Jofa shins are on the bulky and heavy side. I do have Jofa elbows though. In all, there are so many choices in brands go try a bunch on--not everyone plays at the NHL level and needs that much protection.

Jofa 9066. They look bulky since they're dual cap but honestly, they're tanks. Don't feel a thing when you fall/get hit. 4 straps so it stays in place and it feels more mobile than my Nike V-10s (V-10s are crap btw)

well you don't have to go with the top of the line jofa cause there are lower end models... why go with other brands and their models when you know jofa models are tried and tested already. all thier models are just minor changes from their other models that people know work. why risk playing around with new stuff when you can get stuff that works and is the best already.

I think we went through this question a couple of weeks ago. In any case, I like the Easton Stealth pads. Very light and VERY comfortable. The Itech 660s are very nice as well. I personally don't like the fit of the Jofa's, but then I play in a non-check league and don't need the bulletproof protection.
