RBK Sizing Guide

Recommended Posts

I am looking to buy some new skates and found someone here at ModSquad that has a pair I am very interested in. He told me though to ask here about the size of them, so I will. Currently I have a pair of Bauer 6000 Supremes size 11D. The skates I want to buy from someone here are size 11.5D. They are Reebok and the reebok sizing guide says to get size 11.5 skates for a size 13 shoe(which I wear). I am just wondering if this would be correct and if it would be wise to step up a half size higher for a different brand.

What RBK sizing guide you are referring to?

Now, the RBK 9K will be way too long for you.

I am swithcing from 8,5 Bauer 7000 to CCM/RBK. size 8,5 in CCM/RBK ended to be too long. I've found the FIT Guide on CCM site to be very true.

Use it. Don't go with what CCM/RBK skate box says.

you won't know until you try them. I wear 13/14 depending on the street shoe and wear 10.5 ccm tacks skate, my goalie skates are size 10 in ccm tacks. It just depends on what you're comfortable in.

I wear a 8.5 - 9 street shoe and my RBK 8k's are a 6.5. They could even be a touch smaller if they made quarter sizes.

I wear a size 13 street shoe and I bought a pair of CCM 1152's in 11.5 D because that's what the sizing guide recomended. I skated on them for about 1 season and they were too big and could never get them to work. I think I could have wore a 10.5 D.

I wear a size 9 in a work boot, my 9k's are a 7.5 E. Previously I wore a CCM 652 in an 8D. I found the RBK boot thinner in the arch/midsection and had to go one size up on the width.

Well I'm thinking that the 11.5 RBK's that I want would be too big for me then and it would be wiser to not get them. Thanks for the info everyone.

Well according to that fitting guide at CCM I should have a size 11.

Exactly. I thought it was wrong in the beginning too. That's until I got myself CCMs skates (same as RBK). They were too long (in same size (8,5) as my Bauer Supreme 7000s . I am now getting size 7,5. Size 8 was still too long. I wear shoe size 10 (10,5 in Nike sneakers). Like I said, I also doubted credibility of the CCM Fit Guide in the beginning. Just go for it. Otherwise you will end up with a skate that's too long for you.

If your feet are regular width you should be fine.

Look up e-bay you can find good deals on new RBK & CCM skates there. Also look up the Comprehensive Skate Review on this board.

As far as I can remember, shoe sizes in Canada corresponded to UK shoe size which is equivalent to one size bigger in US size. In other words size 9 UK is size 10 US. I've always worn shoe size 8.5-9 (ever since I stopped growing, that is) until recently when I bought a pair of shoes sized 9 UK /10 US. I wear size 7 Tacks. So in order to use the CCM fit guide, you would have to know if the shoe size they refer to is US or UK. I would guess that it's UK unless we're all squeezing our feet into skates a size too small.

The CCM Fit Guide relates to US shoe size.

The CCM Fit Guide has shoe size is Hungarian and Polish.

Kidding. It's US shoe size.

Then you're saying that we're all fitting in skates one size smaller than CCM recommends? Out of curiosity, where did you get your info?

It's real life experience. And not just mine. I am not saying not to follow CCM recommendations. I am saying that their online fit guide is MUCH more accurate. I went by their recommendation on the box first and ended up with skates one full size too long. Then I selected the skates that fiit properly and they are consistent with the CCM online Fit Guide. Hey, the guy asked for an advice from those who 've had the experience. Obviously you haven't. Why are you confusing somebody who can be helped?

Forget what I wrote earlier. I went back and checked the online chart again. I must have misread the chart earlier, somehow. Must be the 2 hours of sleep that I got last night.

No problema. I actually wish somebody on CCM site forum referred me to the Fit Guide instead od telling me how CCM/RBK skates fit 1,5 size smaller than the shoe size (and there are CCM employees posting on CCM board). I ended having an extra pair of Vector 10s I have difficulties getting rid of in Ukraine: An average salary here is like $200/moths or less. Plus my skates are in a C width. The CCM online Fit Guide seems to be very accurate not just for me but for other folks as well (with D and E widths).
