Electrical tape + Gloves?

Recommended Posts

My team this year is getting helmets and not gloves. Since I just bought new eagles with mustang palms I was thinking about makeing my teams colors on them using electric tape. Has anybody tried this before and is electrical tape even the right stuff im open for suggestions, I just dont wanna spend money on new gloves.

what color are your gloves?

what are your team colors?

imo it looks trashy when you put tape on your gloves to alter the color.

there are previos topics about this. i thinkin one someone talked about dye or something to change the color

It will look ok from far away, up close it will look horrid. Plus, when you do decide to take the tape off and make them the original colors again, the adhesive will be extremely difficult to remove, so I'd suggest not doing this altogether. Just get new gloves.

ive done it numerous times on pairs of gloves and ive gotten very good at it. People can hardly tell where the tape is and what the actual glove is.

ahaha

also i did it on a pair of bauers and it took the bauer writing off when i removed it.

no problems with my eagles tho

Brand new Eagles are a pretty sweet glove to tape up. IMO I would either deal with the color, or buy some new but cheap gloves in the right color. I'm willing to bet there will come a time where you will regret taping them up. Probably the day you go to take the tape off.

Also, electrical tape isn't all that durable. I wouldn't trust the adhesive in a wet and cold environment either.

that's exactly what I thought when I first read this thread. I mean after all even low end gloves are good enough to play in, it's more of a luxury to have high end gloves.

What about your old gloves? Did you play on the same team? If so the colors would be right. You might need to repalm or have other repairs done but it would be cheaper than messing up a brand new pair of eagles.

I bought my bauer 500s over a year ago for $5 and i took quite a few slashes to the hand and felt practically nothing. The palm was crap but as far as protection they were just as protective as my eagles. They did feel like crap but they protected my hands just fine.
