Vectors Vs Tacks

Recommended Posts

I have a friend who lives in minnesota who bough a pair of vector 4.0's but needs the money more than the skates. The skates are 10d, which is what I wear in tacks. I have heard a lot of mixed things (including what I found using search) about the sizings. Some people say that its the exact same fit as the tacks, some say that they are way narrow..

Anybody use them and have used tacks in the past? How do they fit compared to tacks?

I found that the Vectors (and RBK's) felt narrower to me than my Tacks. I went one width larger. But my Tacks were older 652's. I'm not sure how the newer "92" models fit.

the tacks are wider. I would need an E in vectors but use tacks in D width.

But aren't you the guy with the F1s with the custom + holders? What would you want with 4.0s?!?!

Honestly, I'd just sell them on here or ebay.

I tried both, and found the Vectors far too narrow in the arch/mid-foot area. The Tacks definately seem to be wider, although someone on here (I can't remember who) said they are exactly the same, only the Vector is stiffer. All I can tell you is that they felt a hell of a lot narrower than the Tacks on my feet.

if I was you and wanted a pair of backups I might get some more F1s if he still has them in your size... $150 is a hell of a deal for skates of that quality.

I was actually thinking of getting some but i really dont have any reason to buy new skates.

what about the ankle area.. my tack feel awsome, but i would like them to be more tight around my ankle without tight'em up more.

The CCM Tack boot design offers a slighlty narrower heel pocket with a slightly wider forefoot when compared to the Vector boot.

SO you are saying the vectors have wider hell than the tacks?
