If Lou can sign the big boys (Stevens and Brods) to big contracts, this guy deserves one too. Perhaps wants to leave the organization though.

He has gone to arbitration before with the Devils, He's gone as soon as he can.

I read somewhere else that the past three Norris winners have been worth a lot more than $7 million per year. Lidstrom- $10 million. Pronger- $9.5 million. Blake- $9.3 million. I don't know if those stats are 100% accurate, but they seem right, and Scott probably feels that he deserves similar numbers.

You for got Elias ;) but he has a 3 year deal left on his contract so he wont be leaving anytime soon.

I'm sorry, but I don't think Niedermayer is worth a Lidstrom/Pronger/Blake type contract, especially with an upcoming salary cap.
