CCM 692 / 892 helmet question

Looking to get a new helmet, I was checking out the CCM website, and from what I can tell, the only difference bewtween the 692 and the 892 is the liner. The shells are supposed to be identical. So there should be no difference in protection levels, just different liners for comfort. Can anyone who knows for sure tell me if this is indeed the case. Also, is the 892 worth the extra few dollars that it cost over the 692? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Exactly what it is. 692 is VN, 892 is EPP

The only other difference between the 692 that has VN and 892 that has EPP is that the 892 is tooless adjust.

I would personally pay the extra few bucks and get the 892. The inner liner is more comfortable and protective. The shells are identical. Bought it for my son and he preferred the 892 fit over the 692 and I concurred with him on that point.

I personally like the 652. If I could get any helmet in the world it would either be a 652(which I already have) or a Mission intake with the 652 foam.

The 692 is pretty much like the 852 of last year with the same lining.

if it were actually more protective, then paying the extra few dollars is always worth it, I mean this is your head we're talking about here.. but it seems that its more of a personal comfort preferance.
