Pro stock mission blades

Recommended Posts

Honestly, guys, your best bet is to use the chart to narrow it down, then look at the terrible videos, then search the thread for pics.

I can reiterate that the pro-stock Mission Modano is nothing AT ALL like the retail Modano, but I have no idea which pro-stocks are similar to the retail Modano.

If I had to guess, I'd look for patterns of younger players that fit the profile, since they're less likely to have some weird, experimental pattern they made with a blowtorch and a vice. The younger guys have probably been using retail patterns all their lives (there was a thread on this recently, on the demise of the true custom pattern), so they'd seem a safe bet.

For example, I'd be less likely to think that Steve Poapst's 'round mid neutral' pattern is a retail Modano than, say, the Bredin.

Bumping, ordering today.

Strolled through the entire thread without any pics or answers, but is there anything close to a lefty Modano in the Mission composites?

Just by going through the database they have the zinojeiv and 02-048 both sound like lefty Modanos but who knows on lie or the accuracy of that chart

FYI, I checked out a prostock Laaksonen today, and it's pretty much a Modano clone. Mid heel, no more than 1/4" curve, very straight, just barely open towards the toe, and a lie of about 5. But it's a bit longer than a regular Mo.

Heh, neat - I looked at that curve myself, and you just jogged my memory.

Sounds very similar to the Marleau/Pro 48 woodies I got.

So how are these pro stock blades holding up?...We've had a few months to test them out...whats everyone think of the durablity?

The finished composites seem indestructible; the unfinished ones apparently had some problems with chipping or fraying, which TBLfan fixed by strategically applying epoxy to the blades.

I'm going to think about doing that myself, or using a polyurethane dip.

Well first game with my nice new 100 flex V-hex2 pro-stock brewer shaft and un-finished compostie pro-stock yashin blade: Shaft went great, the yashin blade, came out well... err... broken.....

This is the FIRST part of any stick I have ever broken after many years of using woodies. While the yashin blade does seem to be a thinner blade, should I be concerned about the integrity of the blade? Will adding epoxy make it any stronger?

And for all who wish to know how it broke: me and another guy went side by side to the boards for the puck and the butt-end of my stick went into my hip, the blade into the boards, held up my stick and it was broken... I didn't even get a bruise to show off from it either :(

Other than that, the blade was pretty awesome, for once I could snap-shot, my wrist shots were alot more accurate and powerful and passes were alot smoother and accurate :)

PS: I only play inline, not enough ice rinks where I am... 2 in the entire state.....

More of USPS/Canada Post problem then hockey monkey. They tried to deliver it once when my girlfriend wasn't home then they just kind of ignored the phone numbers on the package for me or her and sent it all the way back to California. Now its on the way to my P.O box so I wont have to worry about any other drama. (hopefully)

Oh and if anyone is wondering, to get USPS shipping you'll need to order over the phone and ask.

Demore(Lie of 5):

Didn't take a profile pic, but it's similar to a retail Easton Heatley.

Same Lie as your Spezza? when I asked them, they had different lies for the two - I'd like to confirm low lie before ordering some

Just curious anyone know how much HM charges on shipping on a six-pack of blades from Cali(them) to NC(me)? I guess for anyone who has order from them who lives on the east coast and how long it takes them to ship? Thanks

Any more lefties have any blade pictures? So far it's just Elias and Parise...

I've got a Laaksonnen and Parise on the way. Thinking about ordering a couple more, just want to see what's out there.

Looks like a less open Drury to me, maybe closer to a Forsberg. That's what I'm hoping, at least.
